Sheryl lay sprawled on the floor, her hair a wild, tangled mess.
"Fredric, you've drivento this. We're husband and wife, yet it's been days since you've so much as touched me, neglecting the most basic duties of a spouse. | had no choice but to act this way." Fredric was seething, "You think | don't know what you're up to? Lettell you, you're not bearing my children again. We're over." Sheryl let out a bitter laugh, her resentment flowing like an endless river.

If you pushto the brink, I'll drag her down with me, and we'll all go down together." "You wouldn't dare!" Fredric raised his hand to strike, but a small figure burst through the door and, with all their might, pushed him away.
"You can't hit Mom. You're neglecting us for that temptress, abandoning our family. You're a bad dad, a total jerk!" Nina burst into tears.
Seeing his daughter's tears, Fredric's face turned pale.
Aurelia and Leopold rushed over. Aurelia helped Sheryl up and wrapped her in a blanket.
Nina ran into Leopold's arms, sobbing uncontrollably, "Uncle Leopold, Dad's gone mad. You gotta do something, please." Leopold gently stroked her hair, murmuring reassurances, "Don't worry, I'm here. Go to your room, and I'll handle this." "Okay." Nina nodded, wiping away tears as she left.
Leopold shut the door behind her.

"No," Leopold replied coolly, "No matter what, a man should never strike a woman. All Sheryl wanted was for you to fulfill your duties as a husband. Your deliberate neglect, pushing her towards divorce, is wrong." Fredric grimaced, "I feel nothing for her anymore. Why cling to something dead? I'm willing to give her half of everything. Isn't that generous enough? Does she expect us to live miserably like Mom and Dad? Mom had her reasons, to keep the head of the family's seat secure. But I'm not the head. There's no glory in being married to me. What could she possibly want? Why can't she be more like Lisa? Look how clean and quick she was about it." He looked disgusted as if Sheryl was nothing more than a rag.
Biting her lip, Sheryl retorted, "I won't let you have your happy ending with that fox, not unless you give all your assets to Nina.
Otherwise, | won't back down." Fredric clenched his jaw, "You're insatiable, always wanting more. How did | ever make the mistake of marrying you?" Sheryl fired back, "I was the one who was blind to marry you. With all the wealthy bachelors after me, why did | choose you? | gave up my career for you, even broke my contract with the agency. If | hadn't left showbiz, I'd be shining bright right now. You're heartless and ungrateful. Look at your brothers, and each one is deeply committed, except you, inheriting all of Dad's worst traits.
Even if Jelena ends up with you, she won't have a happy ending." Fredric's temples pulsed with rage.
"I never pursued you; it was you who threw yourself at me. | was seeing Joyce at the time, and she was the one | intended to marry. She was your best friend. Yet you seduced me, climbed into my bed on your own accord."
