Chapter 163
“Allison, I trust my judgement; Dr. Dylan is a good guy. If you guys have some misunderstandings, just
sort it out. Don’t miss out on someone like him just because you’re mad for a moment.”
“My mom used to tell me not to judge a person’s character based on their current behavior. Just
because he’s good now doesn’t mean he’ll always be like that. Sweet words today might turn into
heart–breaking knives in the future.” Allison stared at Christopher, her voice clear, “Mr. Flanagan, have
you ever done something you regret?”
Christopher was taken aback.
Looking into Allison’s clear eyes, he was momentarily lost for words.

my way.”
“Mr. Flanagan, I was young back then and didn’t understand anything. Now I’ve grown up, and I want to
know if my father’s and brother’s deaths were really just accidents.”
“That incident was over a decade ago; the culprit has already surrendered, Allison.” Christopher’s gaze
shifted elsewhere, “I’m also saddened by the tragedy of your father and brother. But it’s in the past.
What’s the point of digging it up now?”
“Right, it’s been over a decade.” Allison’s face remained calm, her eyes steady, “I really want to know
how the murderer could have gotten away scot–free.”
Christopher’s face changed instantly, “Allison, have you heard something?”
“No. I’ve just been dreaming about them a lot lately. My brother was still a teenager when he died. I
think my father must regret bringing him along. After all, he thought it was just a regular mission and
that he’d be able to come home, have dinner, and chat with us in the evening.”
Christopher said, “You can’t control everything, Allison. I think your father wouldn’t want you to be stuck
in the past either.”
“Is that so? I hope my father can tell me in my dream tonight.”
With that, Allison stood up and said, “Mr. Flanagan, I’m going to leave now. You should get some rest
soon too.”
Christopher nodded, watching her leave the study, then sank into the couch with a sigh. After a while,
he picked up his phone and made a call

“Mr. Flanagan, you’re not thinking of visiting her, are you? Don’t let Mrs. Flanagan find out, or there’ll be
hell to pay.”
Christopher let out a sigh, “It’s time to see her.”
Things have been busy at the Red Jack Club lately. When Allison deposited her salary for the month
into her bank account, she was filled with hope for the future. Once she and Adrian rescue her mother,
she’ll take her mom away from here to a place with beautiful scenery.
She stood by the window, looking out at the Northfield night scene, and watched the dazzling lights.
After a brief rest, she returned to the break room.
As soon as she walked in, she could hear a few people discussing.
The client I’m handling is really generous. He ordered several bottles of top–notch red wine.”
“Your bonus this month must be nice then; I’m so jealous. Let me tell you guys, when I went home a
few days ago, my sister and I were chatting. She mentioned an interesting patient at her hospital.”
