426 “At this rate... there might not be a wedding.”

A minute long ‘you look at me and I look at you’ moment ensued soon after with Zi Xingxi folding her arms across her chest. She was a little surprised that these two managed to hide this from her for so long. However long it was, it was still too long.

Lynn Feng opened her mouth several times but not even a sound came out. It was as if she had lost her voice like the little mermaid who gave up her voice for a pair of human legs so she could go to shore.

“We are together,” said Secretary K as he lowered his head but his tone was that of a person making a bold declaration.

“Yes, I figured that out but why am I the last to know?” she asked and Lynn Feng wished she could dig a hole in the desert sand and bury herself in it.

“I I I... we,” stammered Lynn Feng but Zi Xingxi raised her hand and said,

“No need to explain. You are both mature adults and can be with whomever you want. As long as you ease up on the dog food. Heavens know I was already getting enough of that from Zi Han and Yi Chen.”

Recalling how each time she would catch her son on his light brain being flirty with Yi Chen, she suddenly had goosebumps. And here it was, the queen of dog food was finally suffering retribution. How they had all suffered under her tyranny with her PDA now she dared to set boundaries.

“Thank you jiejie. I promise I will keep my hands to myself... but in private mrruh,” said Lynn Feng curling her nails while making cat sounds.

“Lynn Feng!” called out Zi Xingxi seeing that she had already started breaking her promise.

.....

“Ah sorry sorry sorry,” she said covering her eyes with her palms acting all shy.

Secretary K’s ears were thoroughly cooked at this point that they were even steaming. “Oh god... where are you on finding Yi Chen. Zi Han is quite delirious. He mentioned something about Yi Chen disappearing or something.”

“Actually, he kind of did. He entered the very same house you are currently in and never left. It seems the Marshal has been running around the place looking for him that’s why he brought Zi Han in,” explained Lynn Feng while sending through everything she could find.

“It’s like he vanished off the face of Capital Star without a trace,” she continued explaining and Zi Xingxi’s brow creased hearing this. This was serious and not just some case of a groom having cold feet.

“Keep looking. I am going to bring Zi Han his soup,” she said before she got up and poured out the warm soup into a bowl.

After she left the two lovers stared at each other and Lynn Feng asked, “Is she gone?”

Secretary K replied with a simple, “En.”

Lynn Feng exhaled deeply while patting her chest. “You could have warned me first. I was scared half to death,” she said feeling like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

“There is no need to sneak around anymore,” said Secretary K with a slight quirk at the corner of his lips only for it to fall after she said, “Well, that takes the fun out of it. I will miss the sneaking around part.”

Secretary K, “...”

Meanwhile, Yi Zhen who hadn’t yielded in a fight in years was brought to his knees. By the time the fight was over he sat down on the floor with his shoulders slumped in defeat. He was breathing heavily while wiping the sweat constantly flowing down his forehead.

His whole person was in a sorry state. Hydra on the other hand was enduring the childish taunts from Chronos. If it weren’t because it was prohibited to spurt out curses it would have cursed out Chronos a long time ago.

The pair were in a very miserable state. Zi Feiji walked over his steps menacing like that of a tyrant towering over his opponent.

“You can show yourself out,” said Zi Feiji his eyes filled with disgust and disappointment.

Just as he turned to walk away, Yi Zhen suddenly raised his hand tiredly and said, “My... My son is in the Republic.”

His words made Zi Feiji halt his steps as he turned to look at him with an expression that seem to say ‘what the fuck are you smoking’. The very idea that Yi Chen could be in the Republic was both ridiculous and inconceivable.

“If you don’t want your son to marry my grandson just say so not come up with such a ridiculous excuse,” replied Zi Feiji before turning to leave again but he only managed to take a step before Yi Zhen asked in confusion,

“What? Get married?”

It was then Zi Feiji realised that this man had no idea his son was going to marry. His brow arched as he stared at him like he was looking at an idiot.

“I only took him because I need him to help Yi Chen come home. Yi Chen was looking for the late prince and everything points at the Republic or at least I think it does...Zi Han is the only one who can perform space jumps and get him back.”

Zi Feiji hastily responded, “No, go find somebody else.”

Yi Zhen, “...”

Zi Feiji turned to leave with an ugly expression but how could Yi Zhen let him walk away?

“But Zi Han had already agreed. You can’t refuse on his behalf,” he said only for Zi Feiji to walk back again and with a loud bang he punched Yi Zhen’s face thoroughly knocking him out cold.

Old Lu was about to ask what to do with him but Zi Feiji spoke first. “Leave him there. A night on the cold floor might help boost his emotional intelligence.”

“Yes, master,” replied Old Lu wishing he could also land one kick. This man dared to harm their young master. It was unacceptable, to say the least. It was a shame that this person was going to be their young master’s father in law in the future.

“Master, why not marry Yi Chen into the family, not the other way around? With this man’s attitude Zi Han would be truly wronged and bullied,” he suggested and Zi Feiji lowered his head with a sigh while saying,

“At this rate... there might not be a wedding.”

Old Lu, “...”
