Brody stabbed the spear forward, the Incarnationb of War swung it sideways. Both of them jumped, slid over the ground, and dodged any attack that came their way, sometimes deflecting it for a small chance at an attack.
The Demon-Orc and this living armor-set were fighting their hearts out, and were doing their best to win this fight under any circumstances. It really did seem like neither the Incarnation of War nor Brody really wanted to lose this fight, despite how calm the atmosphere was before the fight actually begun.
It seemed like there was actually little reason to take this fight as serious as both of them did. In the end, it would most likely turn out well either way. Surely, the Incarnation of War would just suggest a treaty with a favorable outcome after he lost. If it was really given these special rights and privileges of being a Boss monster that wasn’t restricted to a small room and even simply ’give up’, surely there would be some other way to stop being the boss, or they could make use of it while it was still the boss of this island.
Sure, Eisen wasn’t particularly expecting Brody to lose, but somehow, the fight seemed rather... even. Truly, the Incarnation of War learned a lot of things from fighting ’alongside’ Brody in the past, and the two of them seemed actually rather equal. Like they were mirroring each other’s movements, despite the Incarnation of War being so much bigger than Brody was.
It was a beautiful fight, they were swinging their weapons around and doing practically impossible things. Balancing their own spear’s tip on the other’s spear’s tip, or dodging the other’s weapon by a hair’s width. It truly seemed impossible, but it was still as wonderful to look at as a masterfully coreographed dance.
At the very least, that was until one of the two finally got the upper hand, and the first bit of damage was dealt to the opponent. Brody managed to scratch of the side of the Incarnation of War’s helmet. It really was nothing but a scratch, nothing that would cause serious damage even if it was repeated hundreds or thousands of times, but it was a sign that the tide of the fight would finally move in one of the two’s favor, since it was still more damage than had been dealt during this whole fight.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtImmediately after the first scratch came the second, then the third. Then, Brody put a small dent into the Incarnation’s leg, while the incarnation itself only just managed to cut a little bit into Brody’s clothes.
The two continued fighting, and both started to get proper hits in, and they were slowly getting rid of each other’s health. In that sense, the Incarnation was obviously at an advantage, considering that it, as a Boss monster, had an incredible amount of health that far surpassed what Brody had at the moment.
But on the other hand, Brody was dealing much, much more damage. And since the Incarnation’s body was made up of metal, and was basically still just an item-set in the end, the damage couldn’t be repaired all too easily. A dent in the Incarnation’s body was permanent during this fight, but Brody’s bruises and small cuts would heal after a few minutes.
That was really one of Brody’s greatest advantages, considering that otherwise, the two of them were rather equally matched. At first, the old man thought that the tide of this battle had changed because of some sort of physical exhaustion, but it was rather the exact opposite. They were just speeding up as the fight continued instead of slowing down. And Brody was simply getting used to this fight at a quicker pace than the Incarnation.
Eisen had his mana-sight turned on, since he was actually also able to see Brody’s two energies with it, at least to an extent, and he was surprised to see what happened next. Once more, Brody and the Incarnation did this impossible move that was just a thing in order to test their strength... or so Eisen thought. But no, instead, Brody had pushed his internal energy through his spear into the spear of the Incarnation, and was simply filling it up more and more.
The old man didn’t fully understand why Brody did this, but he had a few ideas. Maybe he tried to divert the Incarnation’s spear a little by controlling the internal energy placed into it to get even more of an edge. Or he just wanted it to do less damage in general. Since it was filled with his own energy, the damage may become minimal somehow.
But all of a sudden, Brody seemed to just stop, in the middle of one of the Incarnation’s moves. Instead, he pushed his spear into the ground behind him and held onto it with his left arm, before he pushed himself away from the spear that was wedged in place and helped out with a simply step forward. Somehow, he pushed out a mass amount of external energy focused into a single spot. And that spot was exactly where the Incarnation’s spear hit his palm.
Eisen had a hard time following every little thing that Brody and the Incarnation were doing in this fast-paced battle in the first place, but this was really beyond anything that he may have ever been able to expect. In his head, it became obvious that Brody’s arm had been completely pierced, simply because that’s what it looked like. From Eisen’s position, it seemed as if a quarter of the Incarnation’s spear had been pushed into Brody’s arm.
But no, instead, it seemed like that quarter was simply shattered immediately when it came in contact with Brody’s hand. The Demon-Orc started to grin broadly as he closed his hand around the weapon that was now basically just a staff.
Brody grinned as he made his arm slowly slip along the side of that staff as he tried to slowly raise that arm up, as if attempting to pull it out of the Incarnation’s hands. But it seemed like neither of them were about to give up, and neither of them seemed to be directly losing. Brody was pushing onto the ground and was using his energies and his own spear that he pushed into the ground to keep his feet safely pressed into the rocky surface below him.
It was as if the Incarnation was slowly being pulled toward Brody, and if their height was a bit more similar to each other, the Incarnation surely would have been lifted into the air by now. Obviously that wouldn’t work like this, but it didn’t seem to be Brody’s goal either.
Instead, he used the fact that the Incarnation was trying to hold the broken spear down on the ground with as much force as possible, and Brody then simply let go of his own spear and slightly jumped up, and the Incarnation used practically all of its physical force to push the spear onto the ground, basically in a circular motion. And so, it pushed Brody right toward its own feet.
The Incarnation reacted and jumped, flipping forward while holding onto the broken spear, and used that motion to swing the broken spear up into the air while Brody was still holding onto it. But the Demon-Orc cleverly let go at the right time and managed to hook his foot into a piece of the Incarnation’s armor.
He was swung forward while the broken spear flew into the air, and Brody managed to sling his arms and legs around the Incarnation’s helmet.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBrody pushed his fingers into the eye-holes and started to pull on the helmet while the Incarnation grasped his legs and tried to pull the Demon-Orc off its body. But it was too late, Brody’s plan had already been set into motion. He soon let go of the tension he put into his right leg, letting the Incarnation rapidly pull it away from its helmet, but due to the surprising force and speed, its fingers slipped away because of the rapid stop that came after Brody put all the tension back onto the leg at some point.
And that point was exactly the point at which one end of the broken spear that had been flying through the air hit the Demon-Orc’s foot. Brody waited for the other end to keep dropping a bit, and then pulled his leg back rapidly so that he had extra force to push off the helmet after pushing the other end of the broken spear into one of the eye-holes.
The helmet that seemed to have been practically fully connected to the rest of the armor until now had suddenly been dislodged, and Brody just pulled it off. And then, the Demon-Orc looked into the hollow armor-set.
At first, everyone thought that there was some sort of actual physical figure inside of there, since it was an ’Incarnation’ of War. They thought that it should have had an actual ’carnate’ form. But instead, Brody was now looking into the hollow space inside of the armor. And the Incarnation of War continued to pull on Brody’s legs, while the Demon-Orc held onto its head. But since that was all that he really wanted, he swiftly jumped off the Incarnation’s body and then stood in front of it, holding onto the large helmet.
"So, this gonna be enough to make ya give up?" Brody asked with a slight smile on his face, "If ya don’t, I’ll break the helmet."
"Why should it be, there’s no reason to, after all." The Incarnation said, with the voice coming straight out of the helmet. And all of a sudden, the rest of the armor simply... fell apart. It just disappeared outright, turning into dust before floating over toward Brody.
Before he knew it, it gathered underneath the helmet that he was holding and started to build onto it, as if reconstructing the body in this new place.
"Ah, fuck off..." Brody groaned, before letting go of the helmet and letting it drop down, catching it with his foot before proceeding to kick it high up into the sky. The armor-dust followed the helmet and reconstructed the body mid-air, before falling back to the ground soon thereafter.
With a loud slam, it stood in front of Brody while reaching its arm out forward. Even the spear that he was holding before completely reconstructed itself inside of his hands.
"It is a good time to reveal this ability of mine. I am glad to see that you even brought me to this point. However, as I can freely control my body however I wish..." The Incarnation said, before Brody slowly felt some of the dust creep up on his ankle before turning into the Incarnation’s gauntlet, holding onto him like that before pulling the Demon-Orc up to hang in front of it upside down, "...There is no way you will be able to beat me."
