Shocking Venomous Consort: Frivolous Miss
Chapter 186 - Sigh, How HeartlessChapter 186: Sigh, How Heartless
“My Lord, has the matter been settled?” asked the two man in black with covered faces in soft and extraordinarily respectful tones.
“Yes. Are you guys blind? Isn’t that Li Ruihong’s corpse right there?” retorted Mu Liufeng in a lazy and frivolous tone.
The two men in black turned around and immediately went over to deal with Li Ruihong’s corpse.

“Here,” said Ling Chuxi as she took out a mask after searching her own robes. This was something she brought with her wherever she went, just in case.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. It is indeed very exquisite,” remarked Mu Liufeng as he accepted the mask and took a good look at it, nodding his head in praise as he did so.
“Who exactly are you? Why is it that you even dare kill people from the Deity Temple?” asked Ling Chuxi somberly as she stared at Mu Liufeng.
Mu Liufeng sighed. “How heartless. I thought that you would first ask me why I left without bidding goodbye,” said Mu Liufeng as he kept the mask away and frivolously leaned toward Ling Chuxi suddenly. “How heartless of you. I’m so sad.”
Ling Chuxi was speechless. Observing Mu Liufeng’s devilish face bearing an expression that looked like a mere half-hearted smile in addition to his frivolous tone, Ling Chuxi was left thoroughly speechless. Who exactly was the heartless one here? The person who left without saying goodbye was him but now here he was actually accusing her of being heartless.
“You want to know who I am? All right then, I’ll tell you,” continued Mu Liufeng in a soft tone with a smile. He put a hand to his beautiful, clean-shaven chin. “I am from the Ancestral Palace. There is a reason that Li Ruihong, that idiot, had to die. So, I casually ended him, all right? Now then, wicked disciple, do you have any further questions?”
The Ancestral Palace?!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmLing Chuxi’s heart suddenly shuddered!
So that was it then! That was it!
The Deity Temple was representative of divine powers whilst the Ancestral Palace was representative of imperial powers! Both were forever on opposing sides yet balanced each other’s existences out equally. The divine powers had constantly wished to override the imperial powers, and naturally the imperial powers wanted to prevent any efforts of the divine powers to lead the world. The Ancestral Palace was a force created by the various emperors of the different countries in this world in order to fight against the Deity Temple. However, on the surface, they did not seem to have any clashes. Naturally, the citizens also never realized there were problems that lay between these two powers. Ling Chuxi who also had a sense of governance very naturally understood all the relations within this fraught relationship.
If the matter of the Ancestral Palace sending people to assassinate the Deity Temple’s followers was made known, then the name of the Ancestral Palace would be ruined. The power of public opinion would lean towards the Deity Temple and would perhaps cause waves of changes so huge that they might even cause the entire country to undergo huge changes! But, now Mu Liufeng was actually telling her this matter so easily! Was it that he trusted her, or... no, that can’t be it. Ling Chuxi didn’t believe that Mu Liufeng would trust her to such an extent.
“My Lord, the matter has been dealt with.” The two men in black had already dealt with Li Ruihong’s corpse and came forward to meet Mu Liufeng once more. “But, this person...” They saw Ling Chuxi standing right there and naturally they had also heard what Mu Liufeng had told her.
“My Lord, this person cannot be kept alive,” said one of the men in black determinedly as he suppressed the volume of his voice.
Ling Chuxi frowned. So, they intended to silence her? She had seen something she should not have, so they wanted to silence her permanently? Ling Chuxi was well aware of Mu Liufeng’s level of cultivation. She clenched her fist around the Luo Chen Sword and started calculating her chances of successfully running away, or her chances of winning if she fought.
However, a peculiar smile appeared on Mu Liufeng’s devilish face as he turned his head slightly to look at his two subordinates behind him. He suddenly asked them softly, “Do the two of you feel that I should silence her?” His voice was so soft that it almost seemed a little surreal to acknowledge that he had spoken.
