Chapter 860 "Bro, can we just head back down the mountain, pretty please?" Liz tugged at the man's midsection, causing Remington to tense up at her sudden coquettish behavior. His lips parted slightly, almost ready to agree without a second thought.

Coming back to his senses, he wrapped his arms around her.

"Sweetie, I'll have Cedric drive you hto rest, okay?" Liz lifted her head from his embrace, "And what about you?" "I'll see you in the morning," Remington said, his deep eyes shining with determination.

In essence, he was unwilling to leave, preferring to stay until morning to prove his point to her.

Liz sighed in resignation, furrowing her brows.

Remington caressed her cheeks, "You've already been here for over an hour, and though the sky is filled with the sound of thunder without a drop of rain, don't you want to know Daisy's true feelings?" Looking into his eyes, clear and filled with unwavering belief, Liz felt herself being swayed bit by bit.

Is this really what you wanted, Daisy? Do you really not hold any grudge against mom and dad? With these thoughts, she fell silent.

"You're crazy..." Liz murmured, yet she snuggled closer to him without another word.

As tslowly passed, the rumbling of thunder faded away.

The fierce mountain wind seemed to lessen gradually until suddenly, there appeared a change in the light before them.

Remington's eyelashes fluttered, and he opened his eyes.

A stream of light poured before him, causing his pupils to dilate, and he abruptly looked up.

Sure enough, the previously dark, cloud-covered sky was now silently bathed in a hint of daylight. The moon, half-hidden.

"Liz, look..." Said excitedly, only to the woman in his armrealize up and fallen asleep on the ground at spoint.

Outside the window, under a dark blue sky, the mountains and green trees looked like a painting shrouded in mist. A new day had dawned.

Memories of the previous night flooded back, startling Liz. She quickly sat up, opened the car door, and jumped out. She noticed the car was still parked at the cemetery entrance, but Remington and Cedric were nowhere in sight. Instinctively, Liz looked up at the sky, guessing it to be around 5:30 AM.

She hurried towards the cemetery entrance and soon heard Mr. Jackson and Cedric's voices.

"Last night was really odd. Thunder rumbled all night, but not a drop of rain fell"Thankfully, or our CEO En would've had a rough time."

"I'll make sginger tea and whip up a simple breakfast. Mr. Cedric, if om you don't mind, you could have a bite here before heading down the mountain. Wouldn't want you to start the day on an empty stomach."

"That would be fantastic! Mind? We'd be grateful. Mr. Jackson, cousa you possibly make a bit extra? In a bit..." Cedric, noticing Liz approaching, quickly ended their chat and walked towards her.

"Mrs. Dashiell, you're up. Did you sleep okay last night?" Liz, feeling a bit awkward since she had slept in the car, knew Cedric wouldn't have stayed in the car as well.

"How did I end up in the car last night?" "Sometafter 2 AM, the boss carried you down the mountain and placed you in the car." Liz wasn't surprised by the answer; she had no memory of how she fell asleep.

To think she didn't feel a thing while being carried down the mountain by Remington. "Where is he?" she asked hurriedly.
