Damien's vision was blurry, but he could still subtly make out some huge black figures on the horizon.
If he had to guess, it was at least a number of creatures like the Abominable Fiend coming this way.
"Ughh…your luck is rotten or what? Oh…somebody is coming," Luna suddenly said as Damien rolled over with a grimace, only to see a human figure wearing complete primitive black armor and a crude black mask with strange markings on it.
The person was holding a spear in their hand as they approached him slowly, making Damien try his best to see if he had any energy to just fly away from here. He didn't want to get caught up in the hands of any natives without knowing if they were hostile or not.
"Shit…" The injuries left behind by the Heavenly Flames were so much that Damien was unable to maintain his consciousness and passed out before he realized it.
Meanwhile, a few minutes ago, Valentina had reached the other side along with Farah, whom she was still holding on to firmly to make sure she didn't try anything funny.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHer nails were also pierced into Farah's skin to make sure she couldn't use her ethereal energy, making Farah feel quite aggrieved that even after getting out, she was still like a prisoner.
"Hey, how long are you going to hold me like this? My pretty skin will get scarred if you keep holding me like that. What am I going to do anyway?" Farah asked as she looked at this tall demoness. She still couldn't understand when this girl grew up to look like a mature woman.
It was just too fast.
"Shut up, or I will pull out your tongue," Valentina coldly said as she warily scanned her surroundings while eagerly waiting for Damien to show up.
She saw that she was standing in a strange dense forest though she wasn't feeling really good about this place, especially considering the dark gray color of everything that should be green. Even though nobody seemed to be around her, it still seemed as if there were a couple of eyes on her.
And in front of her was, of course, a boundless ocean that just seemed to go on and beyond.
And right when she was asking herself why Damien was taking so long to show up, there was a flicker in the air above the ocean as three figures came out of thin air before falling to the ground near Valentina.
"You three? Where is Damien?" Valentina asked as her heart began to become erratic since Damien was supposed to come first before these three, especially since they were behind him.
Reva, Yuria, and Lily got up with a disoriented look before realizing that they were now on the other side, the Old World.
"Damien didn't come?" Lily asked with a worried look since she clearly saw Damien go through the secret gate along with the monster.
"What the hell? We all saw him go through the gate. Right, Reva?" Yuria nudged Reva while trying to sense Damien's presence.
"I don't understand. If we all are here, then why is he not here?" Reva was feeling unsettled since this was the first time after getting together with Damien that she had no idea what his current state was.
All she could feel was that he was still alive, but that was all. Whether he was okay or not, she had no idea.
"Maybe he arrived in some other location?" Yuria asked with a contemplative look.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmValentina was devastated to realize that Damien had probably arrived in some other place. Using her soul connection to Damien, she also could only feel that he was alive but nothing more.
In the Rising Sun Continent, she could at least sense his state no matter which corner of the continent he was or how faint she could feel it. But now, since she was getting no feedback at all, it only meant that he was too far from her, which also indicated that this Old World was indeed quite a big world, bigger than what she could imagine.
"Take me to where he might be. You know this place, right?" Valentina tugged Farah's arm, who grimaced, "Owww! Are you cr—-I mean, how could I possibly know where he is if I was with you the entire time? This is also my first time coming out of the gate left behind by Anton Vahn. Even I had no idea he left multiple exits out of the barrier."
Valentina narrowed her gaze as she stared at her in a menacing way to see if she was bluffing or not.
"She seems to be telling the truth," Yuria said with a disappointed head shake. If it was the Rising Sun Continent, she would have no worries no matter where Damien went. But this place was filled with unknowns, and she didn't know if Damien would be alright by himself.
"Cough…cough…" Farah began to cough profusely while the others also had their expressions contorted upon feeling something unpleasant in their bodies. However, Lily and Valentina were the only ones who seemed alright.
"Ugh…what is this sluggishness I am feeling? This air…it just feels…heavy…cough…" Yuria also began to cough as she looked up at the skies with confusion.
Reva also grimaced, feeling unpleasant, and circulated her ethereal energy, only to realize that the rate of circulation was lesser and was making her feel nauseous.
"We shouldn't stay here. It is not safe. The atmosphere in this world isn't exactly ethereal energy fully but mixed with death energy. But I know a safe place where we can all feel better and look for a way to find Damien," Farah said with a serious look. However, she was wondering why Lily and Valentina didn't seem that bothered by the atmosphere here. Were they really immune to it?
Valentina saw how two of her fellow sisters weren't feeling good and also felt that staying here any longer won't be good, "Okay. Move and lead the way. But try anything, and I will drain all the blood in your body."
