The most important question was whether Ludwig actually deserved to die like this or not, and whether it was fair to ignore his existence just like that.
This could be answered rather easily.
It didn't matter whether Ludwig deserved to die by getting squashed by a boulder, or if he deserved to die in a different way. Fact was that he was dead and that the way he died was quite horrible. That was a matter of fact. As for whether it was fair to ignore his existence just like that only because he was dead, Liam couldn't care less.
After tallying the pros and cons of his death, Liam felt pretty sure that the result would end up with the pros outweighing the cons, by far at that.
Of course, Kian didn't think like that. He was bothered that Liam was completely unfazed by the death of his teammate. According to him, Olivia's reaction was also a little bit over the top. Ludwig had never planned to kill Felicia, and it was an accident that nearly killed her. That was something Kian was certain about.
He would rather talk about their problems and find a way out rather than see one of their teammates die like this.
However, even if Kian had a lot to say, he didn't dare to utter a single word, not anymore.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLiam was not in the mood to listen to Kian's crap and it was obvious that his threat was serious, not a silly joke.
The atmosphere in their group was extremely tense, and Liam was the most tense, and agitated. The slightest noise in the underground hall of the underground tower would be enough to make him explode and wreak havoc.
Nobody wanted to risk offending Liam in his current state. After all, it seemed like he would tear them apart the moment they were to dare open their mouths. Even Felicia didn't dare to let out a groan of pain, no matter how much pain she had to endure. She didn't want to risk becoming the focus of Liam's wrath. Groaning in pain was not worth offending the halfling!
The tension in the underground hall showed no signs of dispersing but the Natives adjusted to it. They were too engrossed in their own thoughts and were busy thinking about the recent events. Ludwig's life had ended just like that. It was almost as easy as swatting a fly.
Ignoring the tense gazes of others, Liam collected the corpses of the Lesser Demons. There were far more than a thousand corpses but he collected all of them. They were exhibited and sold in his Small Shop for a fair price between 0.1 to 0.3 Arcanium. The price per individual was not necessarily high because many weapons and other armaments could be made from their body parts. The Dwarves would definitely buy the corpses, even if it were for a higher price.
But Liam was still focusing on making money while making sure that the reputation of his Small Shop would increase. Furthermore, it was better to offer products at a low price because he wanted to make sure that every single corpse would be sold quickly. He didn't like leftovers and he didn't have too many exhibition slots in his Small Shop either!
While Liam collected the Lesser Demon corpses, the others were deep in their thoughts or tending to Felicia's injuries. WIth the use of various potions, bandages with special properties, and other miraculous items that could be purchased in the Arcane Shop, and the shops of the Elves, Felicia had already stopped bleeding. She was already healing and could get up from the ground.
Moving was also possible for her and even fighting if it was really necessary. She was in a weakened state and probably not much stronger than Jennie right now, but that was better than being rendered useless. Liam didn't expect much from Felicia while fighting the Boss Monster, either way.
"Is everyone ready?" Liam asked coldly before making his way to the gateway that led to the room of the Boss Monster. He didn't even wait for the others to nod as he kept walking to the gateway.
To make sure that there wouldn't be a problem later, he activated every single trap in the gateway that connected the underground arena and the Boss Monster's Room.
More than ten boulders smashed down on the floor, arrows shot out from the ceiling and the walls and a pit of magma opened in front of them twice. Other than the traps that could be easily detected by Arcane Power, there had been a total of 15 old-fashioned traps that couldn't be sensed by Arcane Power. The other natives wouldn't have seen some of those traps either.
They would have died even before reaching the Boss Monster's room.
Thanks to Liam and his observation skills, they made it through the gateway. However, instead of stepping straight into the Boss Monster's room, they froze in their tracks after seeing close to a hundred Mutant Elite Shedim and even more Canine Shedim surrounding a throne made out of some grayish white metal.
No, that was not entirely true. The throne was not made of a grayish white metal.
"Are those…Skulls?!?" Jennie shrieked, while Rex nodded his head.
There was no sign of his bubbly, cheerful attitude anymore. He was dead serious and ghastly pale as he nodded his head in terror.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Yep, those are Skulls…" He mumbled.
However, while the natives stared at the throne, Liam's focus was on the being sitting on the Skullthrone.
He saw large, dark-red eyes that glowed within the darkness of the room of the Boss Monster. The eyes stared down at Liam from a height of more than five meters, which was more than enough for him to grumble.
"Was it really necessary to turn one of those into a Boss Monster?"
