182 Underestimation
Luo Xiao’s smile grew wider in happiness. He had never considered that the various formulas used for the different professions would be considered treasures, but after considering it, he understood that they were often worth more than the ordinary spiritual treasures.
Jiang Yao could easily guess that Luo Xiao was very happy, and his own lips curled upwards while shaking his head in amusement.
The assassin, who was hiding in the shadows, was starting to feel somewhat perplexed. He had been tasked with killing the Demon Prince and grabbing the young man, but he found that Jiang Yao did not show any weaknesses or openings that made it possible for him to act.
The strength of this Seventh Demon Prince was also equal, if not higher, than his own, so he dared not be rash. Although Jiang Yao was from this lower continent, and had not noticed him yet, he was certain that it would be impossible to kill him in one strike, unless he revealed an opening.
Also, while he had to keep looking for an opportunity to attack, he saw that the two men kept showing affection, and he was starting to get extremely frustrated.

Also, the anger was getting worse due to the lack of opportunities to attack, and he was getting impatient.
His task was important, and it was Second Miss Luo who had ordered him to capture this young man and kill the demon prince.
As for why he planned on doing this, the assassin did not know, nor did he care. To him, all he valued was the wealth he would gain from this mission.
.....
The assassin was not a member of the Luo family. He was one to be paid for whatever job they wanted him to do, and he was more than willing to work for Second Miss Luo, as she paid a great deal of wealth to succeed in this mission.
Unfortunately, Second Miss Luo had underestimated Jiang Yao. As the assassin kept searching for the opportune moment to attack, the two men in the room kept relaxing and chatting.
Their actions caused the assassin to slowly relax. After spending so long without being noticed, he no longer feared that Jiang Yao would find him, and he began to ponder about other things instead.
Although he had heard about the treasures that Jiang Yao and Luo Xiao had put up for auction, he had never guessed that many of them would be useful even in their upper realms.
Seeing that so many useful treasures were being shown here, the assassin began to feel greedy. His task would not interfere with him taking away the wealth that these two owned, and he had already begun planning how to use the spoils he would take alongside their capture.
Unfortunately, the assassin had stopped being on high alert, and thus, he did not notice that the shadows that surrounded him were beginning to slowly wrap themselves around his legs.
The shadows were moving gently, and due to the assassin’s hiding place, it was not possible to see this advance before the shadow reached the neck, and wrapped itself like a rope.
It continued to tighten and due to the sudden burst, the assassin did not have time to react, before the shadow had wrapped his whole body.
Even if he wished to raise his arms and attack the shadow, it was no longer possible, as it had bundled him up, like the spider would wrap up its prey.

The ruthless, murderous aura that burst out from within the Seventh Demon Prince’s eyes was so cold and chilling that the assassin’s back was wet with cold sweat.
Luo Xiao did not seem to notice the troubles that were happening behind him, and the assassin finally understood that he had fully underestimated this Jiang Yao.
Although Jiang Yao was at the same level of strength as the assassin, the assassin had constantly felt superior due to his origin in the upper realms. However, he now understood that this young man had not reached his current level of strength based on luck.
To attack him so sneakily, it was clear that this Jiang Yao was using Shadow Qi, but the news that he had received was that this demon prince was specialized in Ice Qi.
Only then did the assassin understand that Jiang Yao had known about his appearance all along. It was him who had been waiting for the right moment to strike, and his ability was truly frightening.
If the shadows had not wrapped him this tightly, he would still have the chance to fight back, or at least escape, but he had been completely trapped, and had no way to survive.
Now, his only hope was that this Jiang Yao would want to interrogate him, so that he might look for another chance of escaping, but unfortunately, he did not know this Seventh Demon Prince that well.
Jiang Yao knew that this expert was likely to have information that could help him find the hand behind, but he was not willing to let the tiger back into the mountain.
This assassin would have no other way to go than death, and Jiang Yao would then keep searching for traces of the enemy on his own later.
