"Why is it always dark and gloomy places?" Kana frowned as she let out a long sigh. It always seems she has to go downstairs. She wondered why she couldn't just find a nice mansion or something that had stairs leading up to the sky. She really never understood this. Or more like she was just sick of the cobwebs that got stuck in her hair.
But knowing that if she wishes to actually figure out what this place is, she would need to go down into the dark abyss to find out. She spat out a ball of dragon fire into her hand and used it as a torch as she began her descent. She did not know if someone heard her complaint or not. But as soon as she was three steps down, the wall began to light up, dimly lighting the path down the stairs.
Kana still did not extinguish her flame because the light only gave dim lighting. She still preferred to see what was ahead without issue. The stairs went down for five minutes before coming to a long hall with stone walls and runic like markings on each side.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtKana stopped to look at them to see if she could figure them out, but she really could not make heads or tails of the markings. It seemed to be in some language she had never seen. There were a few pictures that looked like people holding some kind of ceremony. But what didn't with right with Kana because this was supposed to be a mystic realm which should have been created by some powerful cultivator, so these markings were confusing. "Was someone drawing this for fun so that when people came to search this place in the future, they would find these things and become confused? But wait. Where did the zombies come from then?"
More and more things just did not add up. Kana did not know the actual meaning behind it all, but it was very strange. She began to wonder if the one or ones who made this, what seemed to be a tomb, was forced into this mystic realm by its creator or came here and got stuck here. Now that she thought about it. The zombies were probably dead cultivators who came here over the years, while the people who drew this might have gotten locked in here after discovering it and had no way out.
"Whatever the reason, let's hope you left some good stuff behind." Kana continued forward in hopes of some treasure that will help her and her family. As long as it was something that could help her and her family gain more power faster, she would call this excursion worth it. Even if it was a single bottle of pills.
It may seem Kana was being greedy, but this was the only reason she actually came to this mystic realm. She did not wish to stay on this world forever, and she knew her family would need an extra boost to be able to catch up in their cultivation.
After a while, Kana came to a hall with multiple doors on each side of the wall. Surprisingly enough, these doors were not locked at all, and when she opened the first door, she found that it seemed to be a bedroom.
"Hmmm? Books…." Kana's eyes lit up as she walked over to the small bookshelf that rested against the far wall. She took the first book off the shelf and began reading it. But soon found that she could not read a single letter. She sighed but still decided to take them with her. "Maybe Angelica will know the language..."
She knew her daughter was very book smart, so she hoped that maybe Angelica would know what the language was and could read it. If that was the case, then these books might actually have something valuable in them that could help them grow stronger.
Kana went room to room. Some had books, some had bottles of pills. She did not stop to really check anything as she swiped everything she could and stuck it in her storage box. She cleaned out all ten rooms in a matter of minutes before coming to the end of the hallway that had a single stone door that looked much like the door at the entrance of the stone hut.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"If it is behind a big door, it should hold something good, right?" Kana pursed her lips and put her hand on the handle, and pulled on the door. Once again, the door lit up at her touch, and just like before, blue lines began to spread out across the door. The ground rumbled as some dust and debris fell from the ceiling as the door began to slide down.
Kana poked her head inside the room to see that it was dimly lit like the rest of the place. But the size of the room was much bigger than the stone hut. It was at least a few hundred meters wide and long. "Quite strange."
Taking a deep breath, Kana stepped into the room. But as she cleared the doorway and took no more than five steps into the room, a loud bang echoed throughout the room, causing Kana to jump in fright and quickly turn around to see that the exit was now closed. "A trap!?"
As Kana walked over to the door to see if she could force it open, she found that even punching it did no damage to it even when she was using her full strength.
"Hello, adventure…."
Kana froze as she heard some mechanical voice that did not sound human at all. She turned to see a hologram floating in the air, but the hologram was not that of a human or even a beastkin but a robot! Seeing such a sight, Kana did not understand why this world would even have a robot. It did not seem to be part of the culture at all unless some alien race landed here and got stuck in this mystic realm. But what was even more confusing was the 'hello adventurer' part. "Is this some kind of video game?"
