He was laying on his bed in his new rented one-bedroom-hall-kitchen place, covered with a blue blanket that Layla had bought for him.
Someone called the crimson-haired boy on his cell phone as it started ringing...
"Hello..." He picked up without looking at the name on the screen as the boy knew there was only one person who could call him.
"Rio??? Why does your voice sound so weak? What happened Rio? Are you okay?" A worried voice sounded from the other side of the phone.
"Yeah. I am fiii..ne..." Rio said those words in a light tone, trying to be as normal as possible to not let her know about his condition.
*Cough!* *Cough!* *Cough!*
However, his illness wouldn't listen to him and exposed the cautious Rio in front of the black-haired girl.
"Rio...I told you not to buy unhealthy meals from the local store. They don't cook the food properly but you didn't listen to me..." Layla said in her motherly instinctive voice. She was scolding him for not listening to her words.
"But I don't know how to cook...what would I eat if I don't buy it from the shop." He said in a weaker and leaden manner.
"Why didn't you tell me? I would've taught you how to cook. It's not that hard." Layla questioned him as she was worried and pacing in her room.
"You would've asked me to cook in the future every day when we lived together If I learned to cook...Cough...Cough..." Rio said in an amusing laggard voice as he could barely talk.
"Rio...It's not a good time to joke. Please wait for me I'll come soon." She berated him for his mischievous speech.
On the other side of the phone, The black-haired beauty's face was full of concern and a saddened glint could be seen in her eyes.
"Nah...I'll be fine soon...You shouldn't come for trivial matters or your grandpa will get mad at you." He said in a leaden voice and tried convincing her to not worry.
"It's not a small matter for me while you're sick and I'll make an excuse of going to another shelter or getting lost in the land of asura. Just wait for me." Saying that she hung up the phone.
Layla walked towards the portal capsule in her apartment at the Golden-Seal military school to sneak out from her registered shelter as she thought it may take more than a day to return from her boyfriend's place and wanted to take care of Rio properly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIf the black-haired beauty had to hide this fact from her grandfather she had to first go away outside her registered shelter and find another one to return to her room at the Golden Seal military academy.
If our boy had seen her apartment he would have become stupefied to find out his apartment at the Golden Seal military school was the same one she was living at.
Their fate was closely linked to each other that nobody was aware of. Heaven had bound these two love birds to each other even before they were born into this world.
3 hours later...
His apartment's door opened and a black-haired girl entered the big hall. She had a spare key to Rio's new rented apartment as they had decorated this place together.
After all, it was also going to be her house in the future as well. The couple had planned to buy this place when they marry in the future.
A male doctor followed behind Layla. He was a middle-aged man with brown hair.
They went to the bedroom where a human was sleeping while covered in a blue blanket.
Layla went to his bedside and removed his blanket slightly to reveal his face.
A boy peeked from inside to discover the girl's anxious face.
"Rio...I'm here...Let the doctor examine you..." She said in a worried tone and ruffled his hair in a loving manner.
The doctor sat on a chair beside the bed and inspected the patient using the medical devices he had.
After checking the crimson-haired boy doctor had a frown on his forehead.
"What happened doctor?" Layla asked in a concerned tone, her face had darkened seeing his scrunched eyebrows.
"He has Contuses Tonsillaris. It's a contagious disease. We need to shift him to a separate room at the city hospital where others can not be in contact with him or we will be affected by this disease." The doctor responded in a serious tone.
He was already thinking to run away from this place and get a bath as soon as possible. But as a doctor, this was his job and had to come to check on Rio as he was paid handsomely by the black-haired beauty.
"Is this a serious problem, doctor? How did he catch this contagious illness?" She asked with Intrigued eyes.
"It would get serious if he doesn't recover from his fever in forty-eight hours. He has most likely got it from eating contaminated food. Good care is required to fix him and giving medicine on time. So we need to shift him to the city hospital." He responded in a worried manner.
'If he goes to hospital they would treat him like a disease and seal him in a room to keep others from getting into contact with him. No, I cannot let them mistreat him. They wouldn't take good care of him.'
"You said he needs good care and getting his medicines on time. So can I look after him at home to recover his fever?" Layla asked in a concerned voice.
"Yes, you can. But you may also get infected by the virus. It's dangerous for you. So we should shift him to the city hospital." He warned her as the brown-haired man didn't want her to get sick as well.
"I understand, doctor. Thank you." She said in a gentle voice and indicated the doctor to leave after getting the medicine prescription.
After bidding the doctor farewell, she boiled hot water so that Rio could drink.
"Drinking cold water would be bad for you." She mumbled while placing her hands under his head and ascending it slightly to help him consume the hot water.
After his head was placed on the comfy pillow again he gazed at her serene face and said in a worried voice, "You shouldn't stay around me. I don't want you to get infected by me."
"Shut up..." Layla glared at him with puffed cheeks and covered him with the blanket.
Rio kept quiet like a good little boy.
"I'll go buy medicine and some food. Call me if you need anything." Layla went outside the apartment to purchase the things she needed.
Rio just slept on his bed, his heart felt a hot sensation that he had never felt before in his life.
After thirty minutes, he heard approaching footsteps coming toward his room.
She had placed the food ingredients in the kitchen and brought medicine to him in his room.
"You need to take these medicines on empty stomach." She brought glass water along with her and helped him get the medicine.
After that Layla went to prepare healthy food for him.
When she came back with a hot soup, the black-haired beauty found him asleep.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe sat on the bed and placed her head on the pillow beside him as the girl gazed at his fatigued face which was currently lost in dreamland.
"I wish I was sick in place of you and you were all fine," Layla mumbled quietly as it ached her heart to see him in this condition.
The girl waited for him to wake up and watched him sleep quietly.
After an hour passed...Rio Woke up to discover a pair of Royal blue eyes gazing at him that was filled with affection and concern for him.
Seeing his eyes getting fluttered open, Layla said, "Let me make soup so you can take your medicine."
Rio saw a bowl of soup on the table beside him and said in a feeble voice, "You can just boil this one. You don't have to make it again."
"I'll have that for myself later. You need to drink healthy and fresh to get better soon." Saying that she turned around and went to cook another bowl of hot soup for him.
After 15 minutes, she came back and put the bowl with the spoon on the table beside the bed.
She climbed the bed and placed Rio's head on her chest carefully as the black-haired beauty embraced him in a hug.
He watched her affection-filled face and felt his face getting pressed on her firm chubby melons.
An aromatic scent of lily invaded his nostril as Rio's cheeks could feel the warmth of Layla's skin.
