Chapter 218
Celena looked at Liam with tears in her eyes. Her voice was getting softer and softer.
How she hoped that Liam would cclean to her. She could never really fully see through him, even when they were already married and were living together.
The feeling of having the person right next to you but you could never really know him was too frightening. She did not have any sense of security.
To Celena, Liam's silence meant that he did not trust her. Then, why did he marry her?
She gazed deeply at Liam, but what she wanted to say was never uttered. Since he did not want to tell her, then there was no point in her continuing the conversation. She walked straight into the bedroom with Jovie in her arms.

Liam stood there watching the cottage. After a while, he sighed resignedly. Then, he turned around and walked toward a corner of the cottage and lit a cigarette.
He knew what Celena meant. What she and Jovie needed were not materialistic things, but to understand each other. They were too unfamiliar with what he had gone through in the past seven years, and he did not mention a word of it.
Liam stood for a long time. He could no longer remember how many cigarettes he smoked anymore. There were quite a lot of cigarette buds scattered all over the ground.
Suddenly, there was a sound of the door opening coming from the cottage.
Celena changed into a casual white dress. She had light makeup on as well to cover her red and swollen face. Her cross-bodied bag accentuated her figure, especially her fair legs, which made it hard not to turn one's gaze at them.
Seeing that Celena cout, Liam quickly threw the cigarette in his hand on the floor and stepped on it. He scratched his head awkwardly and asked, "Are you heading out?"
Celena took a glance at him and responded with a slight nod.
"Yes, a few old friends have askedto join them for a meal now that they know I'm back at the Stone Mansion."
Hearing this, Liam walked up and said, "I'll go with you."
Before Liam could even get close, Celena could already smell the smoke on him. Once he came near, her nose was filled with a mixture of Liam's scent and the cigarette smoke.
Celena disliked the smell of cigarettes. However, she could accept the tobacco smell on Liam. She let out an unnatural cough.

However, at the thought of Liam's temper, she could not help herself but frown and say, "Alright, but I'll be upfront with you. You'd better keep your temper under control. Don't just lose it and start fighting with others like you did the last time.
"My friends are all from wealthy families, so their husbands are from outstanding backgrounds. They have their businesses as well. We can't offend them so easily. We never know when we would need to ask them for help."
At the sight of Celena agreeing, Liam's mood was lifted. The fact that Celena was still willing to let him accompany her only meant that he still had a shot. Then, he still had the chance to explain to her properly.
Liam broke into a grin, scratched his head, and said with a smile, "Alright, I promise you."
He took a look at what he was wearing and took a whiff of the smoke on him. Then, he took a look at the Celena who was all decked out and smelled wonderful. Liam frowned and wanted to change his clothes.
However, he saw that Celena was checking the tfrom tto time, so he quickly ran out to open the car door.
"Let's go. I'll drive," Liam said.
Celena looked at the brand-new BMW, she felt a little uncomfortable. However, after she thought about it for a bit, she still got into the car.
As they were driving to the venue, they did not utter a single word to each other. Even though the music was playing, the atmosphere in the car was solemn.
