Chapter 181
Celena was very perturbed to hear this. "Mr. Lane, this is the reason I chere today in the first place! I won't leave until I've settled this!"
With that, she turned to Liam. "Liam, why don't you go hfirst? You were the one who beat that bald man up, and I'm afraid they might take revenge on you! Since I didn't do anything, I'm sure they won't lay a finger on me. If anything I'll call the cops should they show up again!"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLiam knew that Celena was worried about his safety, but the truth was, that he was not intimidated by the so-called Makson at all. He replied nonchalantly, "Do you think calling the cops will help? If it would, they would not have managed to terrorize this region for so long! Don't worry, Celena, I'm not afraid of them at all! Have you forgotten why we're here today? I'm here to protect you, so don't worry about me. You should go ahead and settle everything properly. I'll keep an eye out for those rascals!"
"But," Celena was about to protest, but Liam was already shoving her toward the direction of the factory. "No buts, Celena! Trust me, okay?"
Celena finally gave in and left with Mr. Lane to return to the office. Liam stared at her retreating figure for a while, then took out his phone and dialed Howard's number. "Mr. Mosier! I'm surprised to find out how poor the security is here in Drunham City nowadays!"
Howard was in the middle of a meeting with the commissioners of the various precincts in Drunham City when he received Liam's call. He was rather dismayed to hear this. "What happened that led you to believe this, Mr. Cole? Has there been a misunderstanding?"
"Misunderstanding? One of the Stone family's factories has been terrorized by a bunch of gangsters led by someone called Makson! Is this a misunderstanding?" Liam retorted curtly then hung up before Howard could even respond.
Beads of cold sweat were beginning to collect on Howard's forehead. He was stunned for a long tbefore finally putting down his phone.

George Nelson, the man whom Howard was shouting at, immediately stood up. "Yes, Mr. Mosier. I'm the one in charge of the Western Precinct!"
Everyone at the meeting was confused by what happened that led to Howard's sudden mood change.
"Have you heard of someone named Makson?" Howard was infuriated and wanted nothing more than to punish George for this. If it were not for George's incompetence, Liam would not have called him. The last thing he wanted to do was get on Liam's bad side; no one would be able to protect him if he were to cross Liam!
George wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied nervously, "I'm not sure, Mr. Mosier. I'll send someone to find out right now."
