Chapter 141
Liam's blunt words set Sherah off like a firecracker!
She was never so disrespected in all her years, except by Liam, who had the nerve to challenge her tand again since he cback.
"What did you just say? So what if I'm her stepmother? I'm still an elder in this family, and by law, I'm her mother! And who are you to challenge me? Do you think you can just marry her without my blessing? Over my dead body!" Sherah was livid, her voice rising with each word.
She had plans, big plans, to introduce Celena to the rich and powerful men of Drunham City.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCelena, a single mother with a beauty that turned heads in Drunham City, would be a catch for any rich man looking for a younger wife, and they wouldn't bat an eye at her having a child.
There were plenty of childless tycoons in Drunham City, and Celena with her kid would fit right in.
Liam had no tfor Sherah's tantrums. He grabbed the marriage certificate from her grip and, with Celena in tow, strode past her.
That's when Sherah lost it, chasing after them and screaming, "The nerve! You two are out of line! Do you forget where you are? This is the Stone family's house! If you cross me, I'll have you kicked out on the spot!"
However, then, Liam stopped dead in his tracks, a storm of fury brewing within him.
Sherah, red-faced and fuming, didn't expect him to stop so suddenly. She nearly crashed into him and only just managed to catch her balance.
Liam spun on his heel, fixing Sherah with an icy stare. "Kick us out? Just remember, if we're out of the Stone family, you can kiss that Max Group deal goodbye. And your kids? They won't even get a
foot in the door!" His words hit her like a punch, silencing her instantly.
Qemal was quick to step in, holding back a fuming Sherah. He flashed a grin at Celena, trying to smooth things over. "Hey, sis, don't get mad. Mom's just- Well, she's a bit impulsive and didn't mean any harm. We just wanted to check in, and see how you're doing with the preparations!"
He reached over and picked up a few fancy gift boxes. "Check these out. Mom picked them out just for you, to give you a little boost. She does care, you know?"

Liam snorted with laughter. "You? Worried about Celena's health? Yeah, right, when pigs fly. Just take your presents and hit the road. We don't want them!"
Qemal's facade cracked, and he shot Liam a furious look, clutching the gifts. "Con, what's wrong with you? Can't you see a good gesture? Mom comes all this way with gifts, and this is the thanks she gets?"
He would not even be there if Sherah had not filled his head with ideas of hooking Celena up with srich boss for their gain.
Liam's voice was firm. "Leave now, or I'll make sure you're shown the door—personally."
Liam wasn't about to play nice. It was obvious Sherah and Qemal were up to no good. He stepped forward, his face a mask of shadows, an intimidating chill rolling off him. Qemal and Sherah spooked, beat a hasty retreat, gifts in tow, tripping over themselves to get out.
"Liam! Don't you dare get cocky," Qemal snarled before storming off. "Just wait, you won't get off easy. Remember, this is Stone territory!"
