Chapter 139
"Really?" Celena lifted her head to stare at Liam in disbelief. Liam was momentarily stunned by how beautiful she looked at that moment.
He did not reply to her instantly and instead gently pressed a kiss on her rosy lips. Then, he smiled and said, "Of course! I'd never lie to you!"
The scent of Liam's perflingered around her, and before Celena could even realize what was happening, Liam already kissed her. In an instant, all her worries and shwere forgotten, and instead, all she could think of was Liam's kiss. Her face flushed red and she stammered, "You- you-"

Celena lifted her head to meet his gaze. The sunlight peeked in between the cracks of the curtains and just so happened to land on Liam's chiseled face, basking him in a warm glow. He was staring at her with a tender look.
Celena snuggled even closer to Liam and laid her blushing face against his chest. She could hear his heart thumping strongly in his chest, and for sreason, this calmed her down immensely.
After a while, Celena sat back in her chair and straightened up, then let out a sigh and tried to motivate herself. "You're right! I can relearn everything again if I put my heart to it! From today onwards I will put all my effort into becoming a better person so that everyone who ever looked down onwill be proven wrong!"
Liam stared at her and then gently stroked her hair. He could not believe how lucky he was to be with a woman like her.
That night, Liam and Celena began to read through all the materials about Stone Group that they could get their hands on once they returned home. They even picked up sbooks about running one's own business and flipped through them fervently.
Celena stared at the desk before her, piled full of books and documents. She felt as though her brain turned to jelly and did not even know where to begin. Liam smiled at her, then picked out a few books from amidst the pile and handed them to her. "Here. I think you should start by reading these!"
Celena stared at him in puzzlement. "How do you know all this? Do they teach business in the military?"

All of a sudden, Liam stopped, and the expression on his face turned to one of hatred. He turned to gaze out the window, and Celena could not help but sense how lonely he felt at that moment. Finally, he said, "I'm planning to go visit my parents at the columbarium in a few days. I haven't gone to see them since I returned."
A twinge of pain shot through Celena's heart when she heard this. She immediately stood up and hugged him from behind. "I'll go with you, and we'll bring Jovie along too! They're my in-laws, after all, and Jovie's grandparents! Even though we're not legally married."
Before she could even finish, Liam froze and turned around, then took her hand in his and ran out the door. As he made his way to the door, he took out his phone and made a call. By the tthe two of them arrived at the door, there was already a car waiting for them.
Half an hour later, Liam and Celena emerged from the department of marital affairs, clutching two copies of their marriage certificate. Celena was still in shock from what happened. Liam stared at the marriage certificates for a moment, then picked Celena up in his arms and gazed at her tenderly. "From today onwards, you're my lawfully wedded wife, and I'm your husband!"
