Chapter 200 Nancy’s Origins
As Nancy gazed at the warm bread in her hand, her eyes filled with emotion.
The bread was still steaming hot, cradled in her palm.
From childhood to adulthood, she had never felt any warmth from her father. The title of “father” was merely a
formality, lacking any real meaning.
Yet, in this unexpected moment of affection, she realized that deep down, she was still a child. Like everyone else,
she longed for the warmth of a father’s love.
She didn’t ask for much. Even this warm bread from him brought her contentment.
Her eyes welled up with tears.
Nancy took a deep breath and eagerly took a bite of the bread. It tasted delicious, just like it did when she was a
child.
Seeing her eat, Felix immediately stood beside her, cautiously asking, “How is it? Is it good?”
“Not bad.”
“Good, good. Have some more.”
Nancy took a few more bites. However, halfway through, Felix suddenly spoke up. “Nancy, if you still consider me
your father, please help me this once. I’m truly desperate.”
Hearing this, Nancy stopped eating.
Help him this once? Ah, here he goes again. I’m still naive, after all.
“So, you bought this bread today not to make up for the lack of paternal love, but just to achieve goal? You just
want to soften my heart and get some money from me, right?”
your
“Nancy, you can’t put it like that. After all, I am your father. Isn’t buying you breakfast a normal thing to do?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Normal?” Nancy scoffed. “You’re my father, yet in over twenty years, you’ve only bought me breakfast once. Do
you think that’s normal? Felix, anyone can call you a father, but you don’t deserve the title. You want money, right?
Fine, how much this time?”
Felix perked up, extending two fingers to indicate.
“20 thousand?” Nancy asked.
He shook his head and cautiously said, “200 thousand.”
“Heh…” Nancy sneered, immediately tossing the bread into the nearby trash can.
At the same time, she said, “Listen carefully, Felix. I don’t even have 2 thousand, let alone 20 thousand or 200
thousand.”
Upon hearing Nancy’s refusal, Felix immediately became upset.
“Nancy, no matter what, I am still your father. Are you really going to abandon me?”
“Do you have to use this against me every time? Felix, ask yourself, have you ever fulfilled the responsibilities of a
father? Every time you come to me, it’s always about money. Am I wrong?” Nancy couldn’t help but shout in anger.
“Nancy, I know I owe you, but ever since the Sallows took you away, they’ve been providing you with good food and
a comfortable life every day. I, as your father, don’t have the means to give you such a luxurious life!”
“What I want is not money. I want a father’s love. Your love. Do you understand?”
The more Nancy spoke, the angrier she became.
“I understand, but I’m dirt poor now. If I bring you back, you’ll have to endure a tough life with me.”
“Even if it’s a tough life, I would be willing.”
After her outburst, Nancy had no intention of lingering around anymore. She walked away with determination.
But Felix once again followed her. Nancy took the opportunity to hail a cab and quickly left.
However, she didn’t expect that Felix was determined to find her this time.
She had just arrived at the hospital when a flustered nurse from the front desk approached her. “Nancy, there’s an
old man causing a scene at the information desk. He insists on seeing you. He claims to be your father and won’t
leave until he meets you.”
“I’m sorry for the trouble. I’ll go over right away.”
Taking a short leave, Nancy immediately rushed over.
When she saw Felix, she pulled him away immediately.
It wasn’t until they reached an empty space with no one around that Nancy looked at him angrily. “Felix, what are
you trying to do? I’ve already said, if you’re looking for money, I don’t have a penny, let alone 200 thousand.”
Felix tried to be ingratiating. “Nancy, I know you don’t have it, but Nicholas, my good son-in-law, does. 200
thousand is nothing to him, and he’d be more than willing to help me out.”
Huh? He’s targeting Nicholas again.
“Regardless of whose money it is, I won’t give you any. Stop dreaming.”
“Nancy, you heartless girl, do you know what situation I’m in right now? I owe someone 200 thousand, and they’ve
threatened to harm me if I don’t pay up in the next two days.”
“Then let them,” Nancy said without hesitation.
Felix gnashed his teeth, launching into a tirade. “You heartless thing, you’re actually leaving your own father to fend
for himself. What’s wrong with you? How can you be so ruthless?”
“Even if I start my life over and die, I still wouldn’t have any money, not a single penny. So, don’t bother coming to
me again.”
“Fine!” Felix gritted his teeth. “Then I’ll go to my son-in-law for it. Just 200 thousand! It’s pocket change for him; he
has plenty of money.”
“Felix, how shameless can you be? Why should Nicholas give you money for no reason? How can you have the

“Why? Because he’s my son-in-law. I don’t have a son. Isn’t it only right for him to give me some money?”
Nancy looked at him and couldn’t hold back any longer. “You can go find him, but it won’t work. We’re already
divorced.”
Upon hearing this, Felix abruptly stopped in his tracks. Then he quickly turned around, looking at Nancy in disbelief.
“You heartless girl, what did you just say? Say it again. Divorced? When did that happen?”
“You don’t need to know about that. Just know that we’re already divorced. So, he won’t, and can’t, give you any
money. Give it up.”
Nancy’s words hit Felix like a thunderbolt.
He stood there, stunned, for a long while before coming back to his senses.
“Nancy, I don’t care what your relationship with Nicholas is now. I only have one demand, 200 thousand, and you
must come up with it by tomorrow.”
“It’s impossible.”
Felix scoffed, “I haven’t disclosed certain things to you because I wanted to benefit from Nicholas. But now that I
can’t gain any money from him, I don’t care anymore. Since you’re so eager to see me suffer and have no concern
for my well-being, there’s no need for me to keep anything hidden. Do you know why your beautiful mother
married a man who was both a drunkard and a gambler like me? Do you know why I’ve never liked you?”
Upon hearing this, Nancy’s chest heaved with intensity.
She had a premonition that a horrifying truth was about to be unveiled.
“Why?” Her voice trembled.
“Your wretched mother was already pregnant with you when she married me. She was carrying you, a little b*tch!
No one wanted her, so she had to marry me.”
