Severus and Sebastian reached the vantage point they were aiming for and from an elevated position, they looked down below at the sprawling fields in front of them.

At first glance, Ferox's camp did not look anything special.

Severus counted roughly about 40-50,000 tents in total, which if multiplied by the standard military practice of 4 men in one tent meant that he commanded a legion of 160-200k strong.

His forces seemed to be comprised 95% or more of just humans which came as a relief to Sebastian.

Having met the vampires, the demons, angels and a myriad other species, Sebastian began to realise that humans were one of the most nerfed species in the universe with the only special power they inherently had being their superior intellect.

Greater speed, special powers or resilient bodies were not the forte of humans which made them easier opponents to fight compared to beastmen or giants.

" That's a puny army, maybe Max can wipe it out alone " Severus commented as he perfectly understood the strength of his Lord and realised that an army of 200k and a tier6 god was just routine for Max.

" There has to be a catch, Ferox can't be dumb enough to provoke the Bloodfall clan if he doesn't have the forces to fight with us? " Sebastian said as his guts told him that there was something wrong with the picture they saw here, but no matter how critically they looked they could find nothing odd.

It was public knowledge that all of sovereign Kane's forces suffered a huge loss in the battle against the dwarves and perhaps Ferox's faction was no exception.

" Mother****** " Sebastian cursed out loud out of nowhere as Severus's attention was drawn to the point where Sebastian's gaze was fixed.

It was at that moment that Severus noticed the area where Ferox's forces had tied up the vampire women and were exploiting them in the open without any shame.

As he watched the atrocities unravel in front of his very own eyes, Severus's breathing breaths became shorter and shorter and his face became a bright red tomato.

His inner vampire was screaming at him to just pick his broom up and rush into the enemy camp, butchering all those stood in front of him, but the fear of mortality prevented him from making such a stupid decision.

Had he been as strong as Max, however, with a fair chance of strolling into that camp alone yet coming out alive, he would have probably charged right this second.

" Sebastian let's go, let's head back fast and bring help before it's too late for those women " Severus said in a low tone that expressed the anger that he was feeling perfectly to Sebastian.

" I understand your anger, Severus, I do, but we need to be reasonable here-

The enemy can't be dumb enough to provoke us with nothing to back him up.

There is some part of the picture we are missing and without that piece of the puzzle I'm not going back home " Sebastian said as he expressed his logical opinion on this situation.

Severus felt conflicted between staying and leaving, but after Sebastian coaxed him some more he agreed to stay for a while which was a blessing in disguise for the Bloodfall camp as his sensitive ears picked up a marching sound which sounded like a large scale troop movement, coming a few kilometres behind the Blackfang camp.

Deciding to check it out, Severus and Sebastian took the long route around the Blackfang camp to scout the source of all the noise.

*********

( Meanwhile Rudra )

Rudra had scouted the whole picture with his omniscient eyes and did not need to depend on Sebastian and Severus's report to understand exactly what was going on.

Ferox was trying to bait the Bloodfall clan into committing to an attack.

While they attacked the main forces of Ferox and tried to destroy the disc, the Mercenary forces would out-flank the Bloodfall army and would trap them in a bloodbath with no path to retreat.

It was a solid plan with the only cocky part being Ferox's belief that he could take down both Max and his clone in battle alone, as he was the only tier6 god on the opponent camp.

Without the Mercenary forces his army was surely going to be routed out by the Bloodfall clan, but the smart guy had convinced Avans to lend him some troops which made the playing field even.

Rudra still felt like this fight was unnecessary, but he no longer felt threatened from it.

His brother could potentially win this fight without too much hassle and even if Ferox turned out to be a fighter way above Max's weight class, he could still rely on switching his consciousness with the Angakok dude to win the fight for sure.

These situations gave Rudra the assurance that Max could not die in this fight, which was the reason behind why he internally decided not to give him counsel on the strategy to be adopted on this fight.

Since he had made the immature decision of marching his army to the heart of the enemy camp to pick an unnecessary fight, he should understand the consequences of such hasty actions.

If Rudra planned the war out for him, he could come out with the Bloodfall clan suffering minimal losses but Rudra decided against it.

Maybe it was the blood of his clanmates that would mature his hot-bloodedness or maybe it would be making some mistakes in this fight that would help him understand his own shortcomings better.

As a Lord Max needed to make better decisions, hence even though without his advise Max would maybe fall hard on his back losing more troops than if he himself devised a war plan, Rudra decided it was the best course of action for his own growth.

Hence making this decision, he silently disappeared from the Bloodfall camp in the middle of the night.
