T/N: Here is missed Sunday release.

A Major Bleeding

An hour or so after the dinner party. I hid myself in a position overlooking Aylia and her family’s facility and watched them.

[Master]

“Yeah, I also picked up a signal over here. I knew it was coming.”

The Ninja Armor’s high-performance sensors detected the numerous heat sources that were being deployed to encircle the facility. Adjusting the sensor range, I zoomed in on the ones that were moving strangely to get a closer look.

[What should we do? Should we start?]

“This time, we don’t need them alive. I’ll start first. I think it’s better to try fighting with the full performance of Ninja Armor at least once.”

[I understand. I’ll cover you when the situation calls for it.]

“I leave it to you. I’ll be careful not to make any mistakes.”

While cutting off communication with Mei, I approached one of the groups that were surrounding the facility. I jumped from above the roof of the facility towards its lower section while shooting a grappling hook on the wall to reduce the speed of my fall and get over enemies’ heads with hardly any noise.

There were five of them. They were all thugs like the ones we had seen at the hideout we had just raided. All of them were armed with laser guns, laser rifles, nail-bat-like weapons, and large knives. They seemed to be saying things like, “If anyone gets caught, we’re going to make an example of them.”

“It’s like I’m playing a stealth action game.”

Maybe next time I should attach a pop-out assassin’s blade to the forearm of my ninja armor? With these wild thoughts in my mind, I quietly pulled out a pair of swords, one large and one small, and positioned them in a backhand hold as I jumped down from the top of the building. My target was the Mohawk guy in the back row.

“Gwagh!?”

Using the momentum of my fall, I thrust the long sword in my right hand deeply in his right shoulder. With the sharpness of my sword, I cut open his organs and bones. In an instant, the area was covered in blood and guts.

“What the heck?”

“What?”

With the small sword in my left hand, I decapitated the second person, and with the long sword in my right hand, I slashed down the third person with a diagonal slash.

“Hiii!”

“Geeeh!”

While approaching the remaining two, I switched the small sword in my left hand to my right hand, and with one sword on each side, I cut off the upper half of their bodies. Hmmm, the sharpness of this mono-molecular sword used by the nobles was unbelievable. Even if I didn’t put any effort into my attacks, as long as I made a solid attack with the blade, I could cut a human body into two.

“First group… onto the next.”

[Well done, master.]

“Well, this is quite something, huh?”

“We have a lot of cleaning up to do.”

“Hang in there!”

I gave a refreshing shout-out to the decontamination team from Reemay Prime Colony who came to clean up the bloody mess in the lower district, while giving a thumbs up to them in my Ninja Armor.

For some reason, I felt like they were relentlessly spraying me with cleaning and disinfectant solutions, but since I was wearing Ninja Armor, I was completely unaffected. I was rather glad that I didn’t have to go back to the ship to do the cleanup work.

“Big bro…”

Heinz came out of the facility and called out to me as I watched the decontamination team, carrying bags of corpses and decontamination equipment. With all the fuss, I was sure that everyone in the facility would have noticed that something happened.

“Hey, it’s been a while. There are dead bodies and their contents all over the place, so you shouldn’t wander around too much.”

“I’m kind of aware of that, but…”

How did it end up like this? Well, you know, that organization got its bases crushed, so it’s not surprising that they’re thinking about retaliation. To be honest, I was thinking that there was only a 50/50 chance that they would come, but I’m glad I was on the lookout.”

Saying that, I shrugged my shoulders at Heinz. I further told him that a normal warrior wouldn’t have noticed their movements, but it was possible for me to know because of my unique order-made power armor.

In other words, my guess was right when I told Heinz after the dinner party that the organization may try to ambush the facility as retaliation. There was also a good chance that it would have just ended as a hunch, but my bad luck didn’t seem to have been triggered this time around.

For their organization, having their hideout smashed head-on was the equivalent of having their reputation destroyed. Of course, being taken advantage of by someone had always been a big matter for both mercenaries and outlaws alike, so they had to retaliate towards those who took advantage of them in order to regain their lost reputation.

However, one of the assailants who attacked them this time was Hartmut, the colony’s representative, and it would be difficult and impossible for them to aim after him head-on. So I thought they would retaliate against the other assailant, that being me.

Why would they attack the facility? Well, even they could understand our connection to the facility when they saw that the battle bots that attacked their hideout were the same model as the one guarding the facility. It was logical to assume that the facility might be involved, so it was only logical for them to target the facility instead of the other way around.

What? So maybe it was my fault that the facility was attacked? Well, who knows.

And well, even if I did succeed in ambushing those who came to retaliate, there was a possibility that I would get trapped if I messed up. So Mei and her rearmed military battle bots were lying concealed nearby. In the end, though, they didn’t get a chance to come out. It was kind of a one-sided battle with me alone dealing with the enemy.

Once an enemy group had been eliminated, I would activate my multifunction camouflage, use my hook shot to gain altitude, and then jump down from a high altitude again aiming for a sneak attack. From the enemy’s point of view, it would be a nightmare, as something almost invisible would come swinging down and cut down five or six of their members in an instant.

Because they were moving in groups, even if they were aware of an attack, they could not fire their laser guns or rifles in fear of friendly fire. However, since I was almost invisible to them, it was unlikely that they would be able to hit me with a club or a knife. While they hesitated, I would cut them in half.

After killing all the people who came to retaliate, I contacted Hartmut through Mei and asked him to send a decontamination team to clean up the dead bodies. The decontamination team resented me for the massive twice-daily mobilization, which was in combination with the attack on the hideout within the day.

“So big bro is really a mercenary after all….”

“Yes, I am. Are you scared?”

“Yes, I’m a little scared.”

Heinz smiled bitterly. I’ve killed more than 30 people in this case. To tell you the truth, I myself was a little puzzled by the fact that I could kill such a large number of people without any hesitation, but then again, they were also space pirates. They were actively spreading the pandemic by spreading the poorly refined drug, and even if they were arrested unharmed by Hartmut, they would either be imprisoned until death or stripped of their human rights and sent to become experimental rats. It would be more merciful to just kill them right then and there.

“It’s too bad that killing these guys won’t amount to even one enel. Though, from the standpoint of a mercenary. I think it’s more than good enough just to wipe out their forces.”

“Then we can rest easy for a while without concern about any upcoming raids?”

“We’ll, what I’m sure about is that they won’t be able to raid this place without any kind of plan.”

If every time they attacked with their pawns and ended up being completely destroyed for some unknown reason, they wouldn’t be able to maintain their organization. In fact, it might be possible that they have already bled to death due to the loss of their main attackers this time.

If that was the case, their options would be limited. They could either hide, flee, or be crushed. Surrendering would not be possible. Even if they surrendered, they would not be pardoned. And they would certainly end up in the aforementioned prison or as lab rats.

“I’m almost done with my work in this colony… Hey, let me ask you, what do you know about Tina? What has she done in this colony, what is her history, and how did she end up leaving this colony?”

“I’ve only heard of her by name, but I don’t know much about her. I think I heard that she had a dispute with the Dors family, but other than that, I don’t know the details.”

“Who is this Dors family?”

“They were an organization of mainly dwarves who made their living by manufacturing and trafficking illegal weapons and tech products. I believe that most of their leaders were struck down by illness during the riots, leading to the collapse of their organization.”

“I see. Thanks for letting me know.”

I have no idea how involved Tina was with the Dors family, but it was not hard for me to guess that she had trouble with them when she ran away from her colony. But if those people were almost destroyed, then what were the chances that Tina would be able to meet Aylia directly…? Would it still be dangerous for her to approach Aylia? Maybe it would be better to invite Aylia to the ship.

“When this whole thing is settled, I’ll invite Aylia and you guys to the ship for a visit.”

“What?”

“It might still be troublesome for Tina to go down to the colony anyway, and I’d like to at least give her and Aylia a chance to catch up. But it will also be a little troublesome to invite only Aylia on my ship, don’t you think?”

“Uh…that’s true, yeah. Certainly.”

“So you guys, come along with her. My ship is quite something to see, you know? Maybe you’ll be surprised at how different it is from what you imagined.”

“Really?”

“So far, everyone who has seen it was almost 100% surprised.”

While talking with Heinz, I waited for the decontamination team to finish cleaning up the dead bodies.
