He raised his hand and gripped Eliza's neck, pressing her against the back of the chair. His eyes were bloodshot, his gaze cold and indifferent. "You really know how to get under my skin." "Helping Mr. Casper is practically your duty, right? Why bring up money? Without the payment, you'd ruin Mr. Casper's business." Faithe let out a bitter laugh.
"Are you going to paythe million?" Eliza glared at Casper, her icy fingertips clutching his wrist. "If you hadn't promisedthe money, why would I bother helping you get that piece of land?" "Are you threatening me?" As if she dared. He broke his promises, double-crossed her, and played games. "This was a fair deal, and you went back on your promise." "What if I just don't pay?" Acting dumb, was he? Eliza shoved Casper aside and snatched the phone from Faithe's hand. "Then I'll just have David sell the land to someone else." Eliza shot him a look of desperate anger, yanked open the car door, and, without hesitating, jumped out. She tumbled several times on the road, passing out on the spot. "Stop the car..." Casper roared.
The car screeched to a halt, leaving a long trail of skid marks.

Eliza lay there on the asphalt. She wouldn't die, she couldn't.
Faithe quickly caught up to Casper, supporting him. "Mr. Casper..." "Get away from me..." He stumbled until he reached Eliza.
She was limp, skin exposed, and bruised all over. Blood trickled down her scalp.
Faithe clutched the phone, dialing 911. Traffic was snarled, horns blaring incessantly.
Under the streetlight, Casper frantically carried her towards the ambulance.
Eliza was rushed into the emergency room. The doctor said the situation was grim and to prepare for the worst.
"Do whatever it takes to save her. Use the best medicines. Money is no object." He was panicking, heart pounding out of control. Not even when his grandfather passed away had he felt this lost.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmCaroline arrived as soon as she heard. She slapped Casper hard across the face. "Is this your doing? Are you out of your mind? Do you know what jumping out of a@ar can do? How many survive that?" Casper didn't argue. He rubbed his face, turning away. "How was I to know she'd jump?" "If you hadn't pushed her to the edge, would she have jumped?" Caroline glanced at the red light above the emergency room. "How long has she been in there? What did the doctor say?" "It doesn't look good." "Please consider divorce. Marriage shouldn't be like this. If she makes it, let her go. Give her a chance at life." Casper remained silent.
After several heart-stopping moments and a day of emergency treatment, Eliza was pulled back from the brink of death. Even then et doctors called it a miracle. It must have been Robin's doctor's call that brought her out of the coma.
The doctor gave her two days to pay the remaining fees. But she was at a loss. Where was she to find the En.
money? Her body felt shattered. When she
had jumped from the car, she hadn't thought about life and death. All she Danted was to immediately call David to stop Welton International from getting that land.
As her body hit the ground, tumbling, she thought she was surely going to die. But her luck was too strong; she En survived against all odds. The door to the ward opened. Casper walked in. Seeing his face, Eliza turned hers away in disgust.
