Chapter 1168 The Last Time
"Come on, Huston, just help me this once, okay?" Renee chimed in from the side.
While they anxiously waited for Huston's agreement, Huston simply crossed his legs and spoke sternly, "If I fight for
the admission quota for you, have you ever thought about how unfair it is to others?"
Throughout his life, Huston had always worked hard to seize opportunities, whether it was studying abroad in the
past or obtaining full scholarships later. He always strived to be the best, and that was how HM Law Office achieved
its success today.
He was not from a prominent family. He had relied on himself to get to where he was today.
It's not that he wasn't moved or heartless; if Renee had genuinely tried and said those words, he would undoubtedly
help her. However, he knew very well that Renee hadn't even tried, not even the basics.

say that she was just being immature. But now, she was already a college student, and he couldn't bear to watch
her willpower diminish like this.
Seeing him say this, Cathy knew that this matter was in jeopardy and couldn't help but feel anxious. "Huston, for
other things, I won't ask you, but can you please help your younger sister with this? Consider it as a favor between
siblings, as you both share the same blood, right?"
The weight of these words made Huston's frown deepen, and it seemed like there was no room for disagreement.
Bound by family ties, he had no choice.
The living room fell into an uncomfortable silence, and Renee was the most anxious. She had promised her
classmates that she would be admitted to graduate school, and if she failed, it would be a tremendous
embarrassment.
"This will be the last time." In the end, Huston relented, "You're already twenty-four years old, not a child anymore.
From now on, whether it's your living expenses or anything else, I won't be involved. If you want others to respect
you, rely on your own abilities, understand?"
Renee finally breathed a sigh of relief but felt embarrassed by the reprimand. Although she didn't fully agree, she
nodded obediently, "I understand, Huston."
Seeing him agree, Cathy's worries eased, and she picked up the teacup on the table, taking a sip, "That's right, you
two are siblings. You should help each other. Renee, you should study from your brother."
Renee reluctantly replied, "Okay."
Cathy looked at the kitchen and said, "The meal is not ready yet?" Coincidentally, just as she finished speaking,
Evelyn emerged from the kitchen. She noticed the slight awkwardness in the atmosphere as she walked over and
gently patted the man's shoulder, "Dinner is ready. Go wash up."

The soft touch on his shoulder calmed Huston's somewhat irritated mood. Without saying a word, he got up and
headed to the bathroom to wash his hands.
After politely instructing, "The dining room also has a washroom, Mrs. Ivan, you can go there," Evelyn followed
Huston's footsteps into the washroom.
The door was pushed open, but instead of washing his hands, Huston stood in front of the sink with a cold
expression. Evelyn sighed helplessly, closed the door behind her, and went around to stand in front of him. "Did you
have a quarrel with your mother?"
"No." In his eyes, it was not even a quarrel. At most, it was just a little unhappiness.
Evelyn chuckled and shook her head, "You're just being stubborn. When you're unhappy, it's written all over your
face, and yet you still claim there was no argument?"
Huston lowered his gaze and looked at her bright little face. Since starting the treatment, Evelyn's mood had
improved a lot. Although the treatment was extremely painful, it didn't break her spirit; instead, she became even
more radiant.
