Chapter 1114 Who Is Mr. Harper?
Upon hearing these words, everything seemed to be switched on like a key, and those bright, expressive eyes
immediately welled up with two lines of tears, leaving a perplexed expression on the tender young face, unsure of
how to approach the sudden appearance of his parents.
At this age, children are supposed to be the purest and most innocent, but due to the repeated separations caused
by the adults, they have matured prematurely. Confronted with the unexpected return of his parents, Lucas didn't
know what to do, nor could he figure out if he should be happy or not.
Though he had been longing for his mom and dad to come back, now that they actually had, he found himself at a
loss.
All of this was observed by Huston, causing pain in his heart. He didn't want the child's childhood burdened with too

Evelyn looked at the child who seemed to have been carved from the same mold as Lucas. Even if she had doubted
the authenticity of this matter before, she had to believe it now.
It really was so alike; it was evident that they were father and son.
Seeing the child shed tears, she felt a connection, and without knowing how she should proceed herself, her body
seemed to remember, quickly reaching out to pat the child's head gently.
"Lucas, don't cry, go with dad and mom," Although she stumbled a little when saying the word "mom," the child
didn't seem to mind.
The family of three got back into the car, with Evelyn sitting in the back to accompany Lucas. Huston drove,
glancing at them in the rearview mirror.
"We're going to have dinner now. Lucas, is there anything you want to eat?" Since she had lost all memories of
being a mother before, she was a bit awkward in taking care of the child. However, she was trying her best to
overcome this subtle discomfort.
Since getting into the car, Lucas had been looking out the window, his gaze returning to his two little hands on his
lap. He played with the seat belt absentmindedly, clearly not fully present, "Anything is fine."
Anything?
Huston raised an eyebrow and glanced at the little figure in the mirror, "Don't you like the children's restaurant on
Sapphire Road?"
He remembered that Lucas used to insist on going there every now and then because Evelyn didn't like him eating
junk food, so he would act as the reinforcement.
He had expected Lucas to make the same request this time, but he didn't anticipate such a casual attitude.
Huston slightly furrowed his brows; this wasn't a good sign.

"Mr. Harper has taken me to the children's restaurant many times already, and I don't want to go there anymore,"
Lucas deliberately spoke loudly, as if trying to convey something.
Though his words sounded proud, his expression clearly showed he was annoyed.
Upon hearing the three words "Mr. Harper," Huston's heart seemed to skip a beat. He was about to speak, but
Evelyn interrupted with a puzzled tone, "Who is...?"
Before she could finish her sentence, Huston hurriedly interjected, "Did Mr. Harper take care of you while Mom and
I were away?"
Evelyn fell silent at the right moment, finally understanding that the child's "Mr. Harper" must be someone she
knew.
Being just a child, Lucas didn't realize the sensitivity of their conversation and nodded vigorously, "Yes, Mr. Harper is
really nice to me. He even took me on a trip!"
Seeing how proud he looked, Mr. Harper felt a bit uneasy, "Hasn't I ever taken you on a trip?"
