Chapter 1090 Finding Where the Heart Belongs
"Really?" he asked softly, his tone uncertain.
"Really," Evelyn hesitated for a moment but still placed her hand gently on the man's broad back, playfully teasing
him, "You're so handsome, wealthy, and kind to me. As a woman, it's hard not to be moved by that, you know?"
Unexpectedly, the man remained serious, "I'm not joking with you."
"I'm not joking," Evelyn pursed her lips slightly and snickered silently, "This is my true thought."
Huston had never thought that being handsome and wealthy was such a big deal. To him, a man's character and
strength were the most important attributes. However, hearing her words now, he couldn't help but be grateful for

"If you ignore me when we get back, I'll keep pestering you. Don't think you can escape from my grasp, you know?"
Regaining some confidence, she asserted herself.
With a chuckle, Evelyn stretched her tone and agreed, "Okay."
In the first week of the new semester, after Alivia returned to school, she quickly became close with her
classmates. She didn't shy away from the fact that she repeated a grade due to work commitments. Instead, she
took the initiative to talk about it. To her surprise, her classmates didn't look down on her but admired her courage
and experiences. This positive reaction eased Alivia's worries.
In the previous academic year, if it weren't for Sophia stirring up trouble, perhaps there wouldn't have been so
many incidents and criticisms. After all, most college students lacked life experience and couldn't always remain
truly objective. Many tended to follow the crowd or be influenced by others, confirming the saying that a single
rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel.
After the new semester began, she moved into the dormitory and had a busy schedule. Nevertheless, she still
managed to find time to visit Romy at home.
In the blink of an eye, it was the weekend. Thinking of her appointment with Bert, she couldn't help but feel a little
nervous.
On Friday, she deliberately asked for leave from Romy, making up a story about a two-day club activity at school,
which would keep her busy and prevent her from coming home. Romy was more than happy with her staying at
school and readily agreed.
At four o'clock on Friday afternoon, all her classes were over, and Alivia rummaged through her belongings in the

roommates to speculate playfully:
"Alivia, why did you put so much effort into makeup today? Are you going on a date?" The speaker was the
dormitory leader, Lillian Garcia, a straightforward person without any hidden motives.
"Yeah, she hardly ever puts on makeup. Today, she's so diligently getting ready. She must be meeting her
boyfriend!" Alivia's neighbor and dorm mate, Fan Martin, chimed in. Everyone called her Fenny.
Alivia felt so embarrassed by their teasing that she could barely lift her head. She was naturally shy, but luckily, her
foundation covered her blushing face, "No, stop making up stories, you guys."
"We're not making up stories; we're telling the truth. We've got so many boys pursuing you in our department, and
you don't like any of them. Turns out, your heart already belongs to someone else, right?" Lillian playfully leaned in,
squinting her eyes as if to probe, "I guess that's the case, right?"
