Chapter 1075 I Missed Lucas
Alivia's consciousness flickered like a dagger slicing through the space-time tunnel, repeatedly stabbing at her
brain, the harder she tried to make sense of things, the more she forgot.
Gradually, she saw the face of the child, Lucas. She had seen his face countless times in videos, smiling happily,
showing his eight white and neat teeth, "Mom, is that Dad?"
As the sound and images disconnected from her senses, all that remained was endless emptiness and numbness.
She desperately wanted to answer him, but she couldn't. She had no recollection of what happened next.
A sharp buzzing noise rang in her ears, from her temples deep into her brain as if invisible hands were tearing her

Huston woke up to the faint cry of pain, his eyes still drowsy from just waking up. But when his gaze fell on the
painful expression on the hospital bed, he quickly became fully awake.
He immediately sat up, his expression nervous as he asked, "Evelyn? What's wrong with you?"
Since Evelyn had been having nightmares before, even with her eyes open, Huston wasn't sure if she was haunted
by a bad dream or genuinely in distress.
Evelyn kept tapping her own head as if doing so could alleviate some of the pain.
Huston felt a pang of heartache watching her, so he held her hands to prevent her from fidgeting and kept calling
her name, "Evelyn, wake up! Look at me!"
His shouts brought Evelyn back to a hint of sanity, pulling her out of the swirling memories. She met the man's
gaze, which was lowered towards her, "Huston..."
"It's me, I'm here!" Huston breathed a sigh of relief, releasing the grip on her wrist, "It's okay, don't force yourself
to remember if you can't."
This wasn't the first time she experienced such a situation; recalling the past brought her pain. Huston had asked
Kevin, who told him it was a normal reaction for amnesiac patients. Though painful, it was a necessary process to
gradually remember the past.
But watching her in such agony tore him apart.
"I remembered Lucas; did I work abroad before?" Evelyn looked at him uncertainly.
Huston was slightly stiff, a mixture of surprise and astonishment in his eyes, "Yes, did you remember it?" The part of
her memories she had lost was after divorcing Jerry. Despite Huston being the one who helped her with the lawsuit

Now, she was mentioning it, and it both surprised and pleased Huston.
"I... I'm not sure if I remembered correctly. I just saw Lucas sitting next to me on the plane. He looked so happy and
said he wanted to find Dad."
Each word she uttered resonated deeply with Bert, making him incredibly moved, "Yes, at that time, you both were
away for five years. The child wasn't with me, and you hid away. I thought something had happened to you, that
you weren't in this world anymore, and we were separated by fate. But in the end, you both came back."
"So, I gave birth to a child for you in the past five years?"
"Yeah."
The details of their past, from their initial meeting to falling in love, Huston had told her everything, leaving no detail
untouched.
