Chapter 1063 Bert's Defeat
When they returned to the hotel cafe, Alivia and Lucas were having a good time. They were holding the funnel of
iced coffee on the table. When they saw Bert come in, Lucas picked up the coffee cup from the table and handed it
to him, saying, " Mr. Harper, this is the coffee I made for you."
Bert was a little relaxed as he took a sip and said, "Not bad."
It pleased him to see that Lucas had grown and learned to show respect to others.
"Did Ms. Glenn leave?" Alivia asked.
"Yeah," Bert nodded.
"Mr. Harper, where should we go to have fun later?" Lucas hadn't seen him for a while, but he was still carefree.

"Where would you like to go?"
Lucas's big eyes darted around, and he excitedly exclaimed, "I want to go to the arcade! I want to play basketball
and race cars!"
Before, Evelyn had always been reluctant to take Lucas to those places, and Bert had tried to minimize such a
situation. However, seeing how happy Lucas was now, he couldn't bear to dampen the child's enthusiasm. He
agreed, "Alright, I'll take you there, but you have to behave and not run around."
"I promise I will! I promise!" Lucas said several times, even putting down his cake and immediately pulling Bert
toward the exit, "Let's go!"
Before leaving, he didn't forget to call Alivia, "Ms. Graves, you have to come with us too!"
Such an adorable child, no one could resist liking him, and Alivia was no exception, "Okay, I'll accompany you."
The three of them set off from the hotel and went straight to a nearby arcade. Even before entering, they could
hear the clamor inside. Alivia hadn't been to a place like this for a long time, and she felt a bit uncomfortable,
covering her ears.
Bert, dressed in white shirt and black trousers, stood out among the group of fifteen or sixteen-year-old kids inside
the arcade, making him look rather out of place.
Bert walked up to the counter, and the two drowsy cashiers quickly stood up from their chairs, impatiently asking,
"How much do you need?"
Bert took out one hundred dollars from his wallet and placed it on the counter, "This is it." A melodious male voice
cut through the noisy background, and the cashier girl was momentarily stunned as she looked up into a pair of
blue eyes, blushing when she saw the handsome face. Her voice softened, "Alright, please wait a moment."

In no time, she brought out five transparent bags, each containing one hundred game coins, and said, "Here are
your game coins, please take them."
Bert took them and didn't pause his gaze for even a moment, leaving only an emotionless "Thank you" before
heading toward Alivia and Lucas not far away.
The cashier girl sighed regretfully, "He's married and he has already got a child, it seems. What a pity!"
Alivia watched as Bert handed a bag of game coins to Lucas and found the scene amusing. She quietly curled her
lips, but he caught her in the act.
"What's so funny?" His voice sounded a little displeased.
Alivia quickly forced her mouth into a straight line, "I'm not laughing."
She wanted to laugh but didn't dare to, and her lips moved a few times. Bert's expression turned somewhat
unpleasant as he impatiently stuffed the remaining bags of game coins into her hands, "Take them!"
Watching his retreating figure, Alivia couldn't help but suppress her laughter again. It was the first time she saw
Bert being defeated. So, he could also be embarrassed at times.
