Chapter 567 - Smaller World for Xing Yiyue (1)

Two days before the official inauguration of Xiao Xing Diamond Co., Tang Moyu drove towards their newest office building to make a visual inspection of the venue where the banquet would be held.

Tailing after her was Cheng Ning, who was holding a paper in her hand, waiting for the empress to spare some time to review the list of guests who confirmed their attendance.

Compared to their old office at Tang Enterprise, Xiao Xing Diamond Co.'s office building and interior design was grander than any workplace Cheng Ning had ever seen before.

The security was more strict and the office spaces were spacious. The interior design had a modern touch on it. Decorative moldings and elaborate trim were eliminated dullness, giving way to a clean aesthetic where materials meet in simple, well-executed joints. It emphasized open, flowing interior spaces.

Windows were no longer portholes to the outside, but large expanses of floor to ceiling glasses, providing dramatic views and introducing natural light deep into the interior of the office building.

Tang Moyu's newest office had just the perfect view of the cityscape of Shenzhen in Cheng Ning's opinion. Being here with the empress was like a totally new experience after they left Tang Enterprise.

"Miss Moyu, most of our guests confirmed their attendance this coming weekend. Is there anything else you want to add to the decorations and menu? Mr. Qin requested to add your favorite desserts." Cheng Ning said with a grin.

If her boss wasn't the empress, Cheng Ning was sure she would be chastised by being too personal with her words towards her superior, but Tang Moyu was different. For Cheng Ning, the empress was like a big sister she never had, so she didn't have to worry about talking to Tang Moyu casually once in a while when no one else was around.

Tang Moyu sighed and entered the banquet hall with her personal assistant. Cheng Ning already knew her on a personal level, and she wasn't bothered by it. In fact, thinking about it, the empress realized that the young woman was the longest assistant she kept by her side ever since she started working.

"Hmm, I already expect that most of them would come." She replied. They invited almost every influential person in Shenzhen for their inauguration. Even Yun Zhen and Xu Wenyang would be there for sure. historical

Anyway, she didn't think that any of the Tang family members, except for her and Tang Beixuan, would be there. They extended an invitation to Zhang Jiren too, out of courtesy, but she wasn't hopeful that the man would show up as she wasn't sure about his opinion regarding her rift with his aunt, Zhang Wuying.

"I also expect you to be there, Cheng Ning. Don't pull that stunt you did last time, leaving me on my own from the last party we attended at Lianyi City." She reminded her assistant.

Cheng Ning only pouted at that. When they were in Linyi City, Tang Moyu was invited to a banquet by one of the previous business partners she had worked with in the past and couldn't decline it. Tang Moyu was supposed to attend the said party with her assistant, but Cheng Ning left even before the party started.

"Eh? Didn't I already apologize about it, Miss Moyu? You know I'm really not good at attending banquets and parties." The young woman defended herself.

When she became Tang Moyu's personal assistant a year ago, she made it clear that she wasn't comfortable going to luxurious parties in fear that she might embarrass the empress.

"You are worrying over nothing, Cheng Ning. Who would dare to bully my little assistant when I'm with you?" Tang Moyu shook her head before glancing at her assistant whi had teary eyes.

Ah, her assistant was really cute and innocent. Of course she wouldn't stay still and watch others bully her people. Just what kind of boss would she be if she couldn't even defend Cheng Ning?

"Anyway before I forget, you've got mail today, Miss Moyu. The security team has given it a pass and I placed it on your table." Cheng Ning informed her.

Tang Moyu was satisfied with the arrangement on the stage and the banquet hall and stepped out of it with Cheng Ning.

"From whom?" She asked curiously, but her little assistant only shook her head.

"There's no sender or return address, Miss Moyu, that's why I had it checked before bringing it to your office. It had a hard drive and doc.u.ments inside marked as confidential, so I didn't dare to read any further." Cheng Ning replied.

Tang Moyu nodded as they entered the elevator together, pressing the button for the floor where her office was. Her office was just right across from her husband's, but since Feng Tianyi was now working at Qing Tian Group until his mother recovered, she wasn't expecting to see him working with her here.

Anyway, she did think that Feng Tianyi had already done his part for Xiao Xing while she was at Tang Enterprise, so she didn't mind if she would be working on her own for the time being.

Just as her assistant told her, Tang Moyu saw a small package waiting for her in her office. She opened it at once, curious as to what it was and from whom it came from. She pulled out a huge and old hard drive and frowned. She didn't understand why someone would send her this.

She then turned her attention back to doc.u.ments that were marked confidential. Opening it, Tang Moyu's eyes widened when she saw several screenshots of a familiar place she'd been to. In those photos, Xing Yiyue was there talking to an unknown man.

There was no doubt that these were screenshots from a CCTV camera, but why would Xing Yiyue be there? Her eyes then caught the date on the upper left part of the photos.

Tang Moyu's mind went blank. She could never forget that day. No. She corrected herself. That night.
