*Ching!~*

A high-pitched, ringing sound reverberated as a dagger precisely struck the edge of a curved blade, causing it to be stopped as a wave of undulating force shook the space.

The point of impact slightly caused the space to tear open, but it quickly closed because the attacks were no longer focused there.

*Clang!~* *Clang!~* *Clang!~*

Darkness energy surged around the region, sometimes even overwhelming the skies that the land became an area of darkness. But within that darkness, a few silhouettes rapidly flew around, causing sparks to emerge along with loud, sharp, metallic sounds, signifying an intense clash between weapons.

"Arcane Soul Spiral Collapse! Die!"

A black-robed assassin had his index fingers and thumb fingers of both hands joined and placed it before his third eye on his forehead, activating a mysterious technique that unleashed a strange undulation, abruptly engulfing the purple-robed man who held a scythe in his hand.

The purple-robed man's sapphire eyes flashed, and the black-robed assassin who unleashed a strange technique spat a mouthful of blood.

"Pui~ You-!"

*Rip!~*

The scythe descended from nowhere, cutting down on the black-robed assassin. However, the purple-robed man saw that it was nothing more than an afterimage that his scythe slashed.

"You are all not easy to kill…."

Davis's lips curled as he swung the scythe in a circular motion, keeping the motion of the scythe unpredictable.

"Perhaps I should retreat. I might be running out of energy. Don't you three think so?"

Three black-robed assassins, each with different insignias marking their faction, looked at the Emperor of Death with a difficult gaze.

They couldn't believe they couldn't kill an Immortal King Stage brat, much less get toyed with by him. Not mentioning his foolish deed of destroying thirteen branches that displayed his prowess, the moment their weapons clashed, they knew he was a threat that they couldn't allow him to live.

"There's no opening…" A Grand Elder clenched his teeth as he sent a soul transmission to the others.

"This bastard doesn't have a weakness…!" The Grand Elder, who unleashed a soul attack, rubbed the blood pouring out of his mouth with the back of his hand.

He couldn't believe that his illusory attack was broken when even a second hadn't passed, making him inwardly shudder.

"Don't give up." Another Grand Elder transmitted, "Back in the days, my Malevolent Blade Hall killed many Divergents and even a few Anarchic Divergents just like your sects did after us. There's no need to be afraid of this fool, although we're just going to need more sacrifices. Worst case scenario, we might have to bring out our Legacy Artifacts to end him."

The three Grand Elder assassins communicated through soul transmissions, making it known that sacrifices would be necessary.

However, looking at the black curved blade of the scythe extending across his body, conveying the readiness for battle and the ability to strike or defend at a moment's notice, they didn't see any opening for them to take advantage of.

Unable to find a weak spot, they shot toward him at the same time again, pinning him down from three different directions.

*Whiss~*

The Soulsteal Pearl Temple's Grand Elder assassin took out a pouch and threw it toward Davis, causing the air to shimmer with a golden light. It made Davis narrow his eyes as he imagined this must be some type of crushed poison powder or a harmful substance of some kind.

At the same time, the Oracular Reaver Abode's Grand Elder brandished his scythe and cut down the space, trying to trap him in place while the Malevolent Blade Hall Grand Elder's dagger was coated with his blood poison and darkness energy, trying to end his life with a combination attack.

Davis harrumphed mockingly and shifted back as he spun Yama around, causing life energy to swirl out as it purified the poison with a wave of life energy before its edge clashed with the torn space created by the Oracular Reaver Abode Grand Elder's scythe.

Sparks flew when the spatial tear tried to pierce through Yama, but Davis managed to stop its advance, causing him to swing the scythe with such force that the rod bent while he created a resonating sonic wave that created a whirlwind and cut through the Malevolent Blade Hall Grand Elder's advance.

*Rip!~*

The Malevolent Blade Hall Grand Elder threw the dagger towards Davis with such force that it pierced through the whirlwind and even managed to penetrate the blade of his scythe, nipping the curved top of the black blade and piercing through his forehead.

"Aha!"

The Grand Elders rejoiced, but their delight didn't even last a moment as they saw the Emperor of Death's forehead harden with a grayish-black energy that stopped the bloody darkness dagger from piercing through completely, causing their pupils to dilate.

"Close…"

Davis sighed as he grabbed the dagger by its handle and threw it away, although it just returned to its user, the Malevolent Blade Hall Grand Elder.

"You… what are you…?"

He asked, feeling the dagger still had the immeasurable force he poured into it left, but the Emperor of Death grabbed and threw it away like it was nothing.

But Davis was frowning as he looked at Yama, seeing that its blade could no longer endure the attacks of the Mid-Stage Immortal Emperors. There were hundreds of cracks on its body, but the lower end of the curved blade that was made from life-attributed ore constantly repaired it, giving it some brief reprieve, but the rate of destruction remained higher, making him understand that Yama would be destroyed if he continued to use it.

"You did well. Go rest…"

"Finally… mercy…" Yama loudly sighed, "You grow too fast…"

At first, it had enjoyed the slaughter, laughing out loud with each soul it reaped like a crazy kid, but as the assassins kept getting stronger, it found itself difficult to defend and counterattack. In fact, it felt that it was a burden to Davis and begged to be withdrawn, almost crying that it was going to die.

On the other hand, Davis made a sad expression as he felt that he was so close to comprehending something but wasn't able to.

As though it was fate, there was a scythe user before him, which made his priority almost go from killing all to practicing his scythe skills, but he now guessed that Yama couldn't last long anymore, making him become fully focused on killing them.

"I think I made my message clear to you three assassination sects. To finish it, any last words?"

Davis returned his gaze to the three assassins at the Level Five Immortal Emperor Stage.

Their prowess was at Level Six Immortal Emperor Stage, and their assassination methods were strange and alternated every minute as he had already fought with them for more than ten minutes, giving him immense trouble.

However, that was only if he restrained himself, and he guessed that they should know it, too, considering that he wasn't showing any signs of running out of energy.

Indeed, the Malevolent Blade Hall Grand Elder removed his mask and displayed his ugly face that was full of hideous spots.

"If I can't kill you, I will just curse you. Take this, Malevolent Shadow Convergence Curseseal!"

The Malevolent Grand Elder spat a mouthful of blood and punched it along with a surge of darkness energy. That immense dark energy seemed to be a void that devoured his entire arm, shoulder, and even his entire right torso, forming a dark, radiant rune that shot toward Davis like a dark comet.

"Curse Laws…"

Davis sighed, "Idiot."

His word just fell when a dark crimson fire mixed with three deadly jade-crimson wind blades pierced into the skies, causing the darkness clouding the area to disappear and the moonlight to return to the world.

Three bodies fell from the air, split into two vertically and burning like a flaming meteor as they fell down. However, before they could even touch the ground, they turned into ashes and were swept along with the wind, leaving Davis hovering alone in the air, although the dark curse rune stabbed into his forehead, glowing with a bright otherworldly light.

However, the bright light resided, and Davis left the scene.

If there was anyone left, one might think he was cursed, but in reality, the Malevolent Shadow Convergence Curseseal that would've weighed on his soul and slowly killed him in nine days was destroyed by his reincarnation energy upon entering his soul sea.

Not many knew the true power of reincarnation energy, not even Grand Elders or Ancestors for that matter, as they had never come in contact with it or even read about it so that last attack that sacrificed half his body was extremely foolish in Davis's eyes.

The Ghost Tear Hall's assassins finally appeared in the scene three minutes later, but instead of an Emperor of Death or their revered Young Master's disciple, Dead End, they saw a mountain of corpses left in his trail all the way to this place.

The Soulsteal Pearl Temple, Oracular Reaver Abode, and the Malevolent Blade Hall that entered a temporary alliance to kill them couldn't even retaliate or send reinforcements in time to take the Emperor of Death now.

However, five minutes later, the Ancestors of the Four Great Assassination Sects descended upon that land, glaring at each other while having their Legacy Artifacts ready to be unleashed.
