The teenage boys all swarmed Lee Seng. Lee Seng quickly pulled Tyler along with him, forcing the poor kid to take the punches as he easily dodged them.
"Lee Seng!" Ritsuka's voice shouted. "Don't be too hard on them!" Lee Seng watched as one of the teenagers' hands blurred. The punch flew straight for him. Lee Seng dodged, feeling the punch connect with his cheek. He spun, forcing Tyler to spin as he released his grip. Tyler panicked, shouting, as he slammed into the ground. Ritsuka grabbed Lee Seng, stabilizing him. "Don't do anything to these kids. You already know what they're all gonna say." Ritsuka whispered into his ears.
"They almost hit you guys and made me spill my gnocchi!" Lee Seng complained. "I was gonna eat that!" Lee Seng was more worked up about his food than his friends almost getting hit. It threw Ritsuka off. He knew Lee Seng loved food, but he didn't think his new friend would put him and Liz's life below food.
"Dude, are you seriously gonna beat them over spilled food?"
"I might as well now!" Lee Seng shouted. The kids all rushed at him. Liz was already on the line with the cops. She groaned as she watched the scene unfold in front of her.
"Hello?" A voice came through.
"Hi, my name's Liz. I'm in Giovanni's Italian Restaurant parking lot. There's a bunch of teenagers who tried to hit me and my friends while we were crossing. They sped too fast and spooked a lot of the people crossing as well." Liz told the officer. "Could you have some people come here before my friend defends himself from these kids?"
"What's the current situation, ma'am?"
"Well…" Liz's voice trailed off. "My friend confronted the kids about driving too fast and they got mad at him." She was telling the truth about that. She didn't want to tell him Lee Seng forced the stop himself. She couldn't make them all look bad. "They're ganging up on him and… OOO!" LIz watched as Ritsuka socked a kid in the face. "That one's gonna leave a mark…"
"Ma'am what's the situation?!?" The officer asked, again.
"My friends are defending themselves from these kids. They're fighting. Please send help." Liz told the officer.
"I have dispatched officers towards your location. If you can, please stay safe and away from the fight."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Y-yes, sir. Will do." Liz hung up the phone. She watched as Ritsuka and Lee Seng dodge most of the swings. They didn't try to throw a punch. "I'm glad they're smart enough to know not to throw a punch… It would look too one-sided if that happened."
"What the hell is happening here?!?" A waiter shouted as multiple people came out of the restaurant. Liz spun around, noticing them.
"I called the police! They'll be here in a moment!" Liz told them. "Tho-those kids almost ran me and my friends over! Look at my friend's spilt gnocchi! He was looking forward to that!"
"Isn't that the fox-looking kid?" A chef pointed out.
"That's the Creator's son, right?" A waiter had clearly identified Liz's friend.
'Shit. This might get outta control.' Liz rushed over.
"Why's the Creator's son causing a ruckus?" The chef angrily asked.
"Those kids tried to run us over! There's multiple witnesses that can attest to this!" Liz told them. "They even spooked those people over there." She pointed over at the small family. The parents were trying to calm their children. The father gave glances at the kids and then over to Liz and the waiters.
"We should try to separate them before they tarnish the restaurant further!" Another chef shouted. They began to move, pushing past Liz has she tried to stop them.
"Lee Seng! Ritsuka!" Liz shouted. Lee Seng looked behind him and cursed.
"We need to separate quick." Lee Seng told Ritsuka.
"You shouldn't have been so flashy then." Ritsuka dodged. The two quickly retreated from the teenagers and the employees of the Italian restaurant.
"What're you doing causing a ruckus in front of my store!" The first chef shouted. "I hope the cops take all of you!" They began to berate all of the boys. The teenage boys rushed into the cars and closed the door. Tyler tried to kick it into drive but Lee Seng had seemingly held the car in place with his gravity abilities. The employees moved over and lowered his head. He glared at Tyler as he tried to move the car into drive.
"Serves you right for thinking you could leave! All that need for speed and you suddenly can't shift?!? Ha! Get out all of you!" The chef and waiters pulled the doors open. They forced the kids out and moved them off to the side.
Waiters moved to Lee Seng and Ritsuka, who quickly moved back to Liz's side.
"You! Creator's son! Why're you causing so much ruckus wherever you go?!?" The waiter shouted. She wagged her finger at him. "And this one! Why did you help him?!?"
"He was gonna get hurt! Do I let my friend get ganged up on?" Ritsuka defended Lee Seng.
"Yes! He deserves it! He picked the fight with those kids and now everyone is going to stand here and watch and not go into the restaurant!"
The waiters planted themselves in front of the young adults. They began to scold them for even trying to defuse the situation. It wasn't long until cops came into the scene. They swarmed the scene and quickly assessed the situation. Lee Seng, Liz and Ritsuka got a couple of cops while the other cops swarmed the teenager boys and the chef's small group.
"What's the deal here?" A cop asked the two waiters.
"The Creator's son and this young man were fighting those kids! They were causing a scene!" The waiter shouted in frustration.
"I was defending myself." Lee Seng corrected. The officer took one glance at Lee Seng and immediately knew who he was. The officer sighed and moved closer.
"Can you cooperate, please?" The cop asked.
"Sure, make sure those idiots get fined for almost hitting me and my friends and all those people over there, too." Lee Seng pointed out.
"Alright, let's get the questioning over with." The cop began to ask the three of them what happened. They all recounted the events of how the daredevil speedster teenagers were all being loud and zooming through the parking lot without a car in the world.
The cops got other folks' witness events and it seemed to line up with the added information Lee Seng had confronted them about it.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Well, it looks like you're off the hook for now. If I have to call you, what number should I reach you at?" The cop asked. Lee Seng's eyes moved from the cop cars where the kids were in and made eye contact with the officer.
He gave the cop his phone number and the officers gave him a serious look before giving a small nod to Lee Seng and his friends. They all turned and got back in their cars and started to leave.
A couple of other cops were watching Tyler's car get loaded onto a truck. Lix and Ritsuka let out a sigh of relief. They had narrowly avoided a trip down to the station.
"Can we go now?" Liz asked. "No more trouble, okay?" She elbowed Lee Seng. He nodded.
"Let's go." Lee Seng sighed. He ignored his spilled food.
"Hold up!" The waiter shouted. "I'm not done with you! Officers, he should be taken to the station!" The waiter was adamant on trying to get Lee Seng in trouble. The officers all looked at the waiter making a commotion.
"He and his friends, as well as others, have given their testimonies. All of them are similar, ma'am. He was just protecting himself and trying to make sure those kids didn't run anyone else over. What are we supposed to do with that? He neither harmed the kids and from what we've heard, he tried to disarm the situation." The officer spoke. Fury burned in the waiter's eyes.
"Rebecca, enough. Don't make yourself look like a fool." A chef tried to calm her. She shook the chef's hand off of her.
"Once a troublemaker, always a troublemaker! If not now, then when?" She yelled. Liz and Ritsuka watched in utter shock that Rebecca was just going at it with the officer and Lee Seng. It was like she had a vendetta against Lee Seng.
Lee Seng's friends looked at their friend. They were more shocked Lee Seng didn't do anything. His face gave off an unemotional response. He shrugged at the situation and looked at the cop.
"Do you need anything else from me, sir?" Lee Seng asked.
"No. If we need anymore information, we'll reach out to you." The officer told him. Lee Seng nodded and turned to look at his friends.
"Come on. Let's go to the Armory." He moved to the car. Rebecca the waiter's angry yells grew as she tried to move towards Lee Seng. The chef held her as the officer stepped in front of her, trying to calm her down. Lee Seng unlocked the car, slipping into the car. Liz and Ritsuka followed after him. Ritsuka decided he would sit in the front this time while Liz took the back seat.
The car roared to life as Lee Seng started to fiddle with his phone. He opened a navigation map and routed the quickest way to the armory. It looked like it was gonna be a 25 minute drive.
