Chapter 806

After Rachel went out, she walked straight to the next room and knocked on the door.

After a while, the door opened. Chris stood in front of Rachel and called out respectfully, “Miss Grey, hello.”

Rachel was stunned for a moment before walking in.

Initially, Rachel thought that there were only Billy and Eddie in the room. Although Chris’s appearance surprised

Rachel used a pair of scissors to cut open the gauze wrapped around the man’s chest. The bloody wound was

gradually exposed to her.

The wound was on the left side of David’s chest, and the dense sutures landed on his skin. It was like a multi–legged

centipede lying on it, making Rachel’s heart tighten inexplicably.

Because David’s wound had been torn open, the flesh on his wound had turned outwards and was dripping with

blood. It was a shocking sight.

Rachel’s heart seemed to be grabbed by something. Her breathing paused, and the corners of his eyes could not

help but turn red.

Rachel took a deep breath and adjusted the fluctuations in her heart. Then, she took out gauze and disinfectant

from the first aid kit and helped David disinfect the wound.

“It hurts a little. Bear with it.”

It was a simple sentence, but there was an uncontrollable tremble in every word.

After everything was done, Rachel wrapped the gauze around David’s body.

Throughout the entire process, Rachel did not say a word. Her lips were tightly pursed, but there was an

indescribable heartache in the depths of her eyes.

Rachel’s lips moved slightly, and her cold voice was hoarse with heartache. “Your wound has been torn too often.

You have to be careful, or else…”

Before Rachel could finish. David suddenly kissed her lips, forcing her to swallow her unfinished words.

After some time, the man pressed his forehead against hers.

Suppressing his restlessness and desire, David stared at Rachel with dark eyes. “Why do you feel that you’re only

worthy of hiding behind me cowardly and not worthy of walking side by side with you?”

Hearing this, Rachel slowly raised her eyes and looked at David.

Rachel’s calm gaze reminded David of their confrontation last night. It made David inexplicably afraid.

David did not give Rachel a chance to speak. He spoke first. “I’ve never seen you as a weak existence. I can be your

confidence or your armor. No matter what, it’s up to you.”

If the sky collapsed, David would carry it.

Rachel looked at David and did not respond for a long time.

David frowned slightly. His eyes were filled with curiosity. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”

“What? What’s the problem?” Rachel slowly let go of his neck and leaned back, trying to create a safe distance

between the

two of them.

David raised his eyebrows slightly and quietly observed Rachel’s small actions. “Explain to me what it means to

have the right to protect your privacy and not want outsiders to know. I’m an outsider? Hmm?”
