Betrayal At The Altar
Chapter 427
They saw Rachel standing at the door of the pantry. There was no warmth on her pretty face. Instead, there was a
layer of frost between her brows. It was as if even the air had turned into fine ice.
Everyone felt as though something was stuck in their throats. They could not get it out or swallow it. The feeling of
suffocation tortured them.
The gossipmongers looked at each other, their expressions ashen.
They thought, “Why doesn’t Ms. Grey make any sound when she walks?
“Did she hear everything we said just now?”
Just as the few of them were waiting for their death sentence, they were surprised to find that Rachel did not seem
to care at all. She retracted her gaze and walked away.

“What do you think of what Ms. Grey just did?” a woman with a high ponytail asked.
“Who knows?”
Just as they thought that this matter would end there, the department manager criticized them on the grounds that
they had neglected their duties during work and maliciously spread rumors about others. That would directly affect
the outcome of their probation period.
That was undoubtedly telling everyone in the company that Linda was not someone they should casually provoke.
Linda had just finished reading the company’s internal news and silently turned off her computer.
At this moment, her phone suddenly rang.
A cold glint flashed across her eyes when she saw who the caller was. She swiped her finger across the screen and
picked up the call. “Mr. Grey, have you thought it through?”
Hans had called Linda last night.
His attitude on the phone had been very clear. He had hoped that Linda would revoke the allegations against Lily
and had said that the Grey family, would satisfy all the conditions she had set.
Back then, Rachel had spent a great deal of effort to hide the true situation of the domestic S* assault case, as had
the Johnson family. Linda knew very well in her heart.
Linda originally thought that she could treat everything as if nothing had happened after her mother came out of
prison and they left Pollister.
However, Lily and Olivia destroyed everything.
How could Linda not hate him? How could she settle things peacefully with him?
However, even if she insisted on pursuing Lily for responsibility, all she would get was additional compensation. That
did not mean much to her.
Thus, she came up with a plan.
It was a plan to make Lily and Olivia fight each other.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJessica’s haters had always been obsessed with the campus bullying incident in her high school time. They believed
that Jessica and Rachel had forced a girl to jump off the building. However, very few people knew that the real
culprit was Olivia.
This time, with the reporters making things difficult for them, they dug this matter up again. Incidentally, this gave
Linda a reasonable opportunity to expose the truth.
Hearing no response from the other side, Linda said without hurry, “I think that you’ve seen the Cruise family’s
attitude clearly enough through this storm. Why would she remove herself from this storm if she really wanted to
join forces with the Grey family?
“Since she doesn’t care about what happens to the Grey family, why should you continue to treat her so
benevolently? Moreover, the girl who was bullied to the point of death back then hasn’t been given a fair and just
explanation. It will be considered justice if you revealed the truth of what happened back then. That is not a bad
thing for the Grey family.”
On the other end of the line, Hans had been immersed in the business world for many years. How could he be
beguiled by Linda’s words?
He chuckled ambiguously. “But if I do that, the Grey family and the Cruise family will become like fire and water,
eternal enemies.”
