She waited for ten minutes, but he still hadn't replied. She put her phone away upsettingly and realized that Frederick had cared a lot about her, but now, he was really furious.
In the past, he wouldn't keep her on endless hold unless there was uncertainty.
Heavy-hearted, Alicia laid her head on the table, feeling her chest ache.
At the stime, in the CEO's office at Soaver International, Frederick held his phone dazedly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe typed out his reply, but deleted them in the end. After consideration, he felt he still had to teach her a lesson. If he hadn't gone back early, he would have never found out that she brought other man home. How could she so casually invite another man home? Even though he knew it was the worst rainstorm of the year that day in Casterwich City! He suddenly remembered Alicia mentioned that Jeremy had sought her out to snitch on him.
Frederick abruptly switched off his phone. He would give her a few days to simmer. Jeremy was obviously trying to sow discord and make her reconsider. If he let her off lightly this time, she would give him more tto speak ill of Frederick next time.
Jeremy Pitcher! Why did he have to go around talking behind his back? It seemed he hadn't learned his lesson from the past.
He saw the pile of documents on his desk out of the corner of his eye. Frederick tapped his head, and thought, "I won't be able to take care of him lately." Subconsciously, Frederick thought his villainous tricks were very petty. At that moment, he didn't put two and two together.
His cell phone lit up again, so he put the matter down for the tbeing.
Seeing that it was Danica, he frowned. He declined the call and texted her instead.
"I'm in a meeting." Danica replied that she just wanted to spend twith him, dinner, a party, or anything else he wanted to do. She asked about his plans for the weekend, saying she could meet him at any time. Frederick got a sense of pleading from her text.
The platitudes from friends and acquaintances had poured in with Soaver International's growing success, and he tried to accommodate invitations wherever possible.
But at that moment, as he fiddled with his phone, he felt disgusted by her invitation. In the end, he called her back.
T m married, Danica. I don't appreciate these kinds of invitations. From now on, don't bother asking. I don't want to lie to you or lead you on. Don't waste your ton this, as it's only going to get more painful. We can't ever be together. I will not betray Alicia, nor will I get a divorce! There is no future for us. I thought I had already made that clear." On the other end of the line, Danica felt the rejection acutely. It was bad enough for any woman, but for Danica, who was rich, narcissistic, and thought so highly of herself since young, it was a slap in the face. Danica grasped her phone tighter as her features turned grim before she softly replied.

You will understand that one day, that I am the only woman who adores you sincerely and won't ever hurt you." As she spoke, Danica kept cursing silently to herself, though still maintaining her calm.
"If that's the way you feel, then forget it. I won't bother you anymore. My feelings for you are my own. I'll wait for you in silence. Just please don't hate me..." "Danica!" "I'm hanging up. I'll let you back to work." Afraid that Frederick would say something else, Danica chose to end the call quickly.
After hanging up, Danica swept all the bottles and cans on the table to the ground, yelling, "Urgh! Why are you treatinglike this? What can't I compare with that vixen?" For Alicia, she had true love and commitment from Frederick, but what did she get? Had it all been a lie? He couldn't forgive Danica for stealing a measly contract, yet he did not investigate the billions Alicia took? He was truly biased! After the results of the auction in Western City had cout, she would like to see if he could remain so open- minded! Then, she would ask the Lance family to influence his decisions. Was he going to remain indifferent when he realized his wife was still attached to her old lover? She won't believe that he would tolerate Alicia seeing another man. Even if that was so, she believes that Alicia isn't as blinded by love and would definitely mind her husband's adulterous affair! "I would like to see how you can still be so madly in love when you find out the both of you have other lovers! If I can't have things my way, then so shall you!" Danica clenched her fists angrily and gritted her teeth, thinking, "Men have no conscience! Furthermore, that vixen was trying to take advantage of her and rob her of her man?" Why? Why was she the only one who was unlucky, bullied, and betrayed? Since fate didn't intervene, she would find a way! She should strike while the iron is hot! If this didn't break them, then the rest of her plan would seem useless in comparison.
"I need to fuel the fire!" Danica's eyes flashed viciously as she bit her fingernails. Then, she picked up the phone. "Hey, helpout with something..." Since she got off work early, Alicia
took another trip to Soaver International. She saw Frederick walking out of the main door white he was engaged in a call, just as she was hesitating if she should send him a message. Smiling, Alicia rushed to him. Frederick glanced at her, but didn't stop walking to the parking lot. Since security knew who she was, they didn't stop her.
Alicia followed Frederick silently and kept her distance while he spoke on the phone.
She was going to wait for him to finish but by the tshe cto her senses, he had alreadyjumped into the dead into the dar and drove off. When he drove past her, he jerkishly gave a long and piercing honk from his car. His cruel actions spoke volumes. "I see you, but I'm ignoring you!"
Alicia simply stood there, clutching her bag and flushed with m embarrassment. She had no idea what to do right now as a complicated bundle of feelings rose in her chest. It occurred to her suddenly that she looked like those ignorant and foolish women. She had trampled on her dignity for love! X
