Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

With her body in discomfort as well, an agonizing Alicia could not tell if she was feeling hot or cold. Banging the elevator door again and pressing the "call-to-help" button once more, she then sat down feebly and closed her eyes. Slowly, she was starting to feel drowsy.

On the other side, after feeling much better, Jeremy covered her with the coat and propped up his legs to let her lean against him. He did not move any further, but chose to wait for help instead. As his eyes laid upon Alicia in the dark, the corners of his dry lips turned up as he felt the slight warmth and tenderness of her.

Being in such semi-conscious state, they lost track of time. After what seemed like a long while, there were finally noises coming from outside. Jeremy shook Alicia and tidied his half- open shirt. "I think there's somebody out there!" "Is anyone there? Don't be afraid. We are working to fix it as soon as possible. Just hold on." Just as the two of them were about to stand up, a dazzling ray of light shot towards them. Turning their heads to one side and squinting, they saw people surrounding the elevator door. It was a hall of brightness outside. Nobody expected to see them dressed like that inside the elevator. Already soaking from the rain and coupled with the sitting and kneeling inside the lift throughout the night, Jeremy's partially wet shirt appeared untidy. Clad in her pajamas, Alicia's hair and garment looked disheveled after a night's torment inside the dark elevator. Besides that, there were also several obvious bite marks on the back of Jeremy's hand, making them look like they had been in scompromising situation.

When the security guards noticed the person stuck inside was Alicia, their faces turned pale. As they gathered around the elevator, they looked at each other and were tongue-tied. As Jeremy and Alicia both walked out, their knees were weak and their minds blank from such tormenting mishap, it felt as if they had just gone back from hell.

"It's already morning?" Alicia was incensed the moment she got out.

"What on earth is this? Were the intephone for display purpose only and the alarm button fake? Why did it take a whole night to get the elevator fixed? Why don't you just return 2 days later to collect our bodies instead?!" The guard then replied in a shaky voice.

"Our apologies, Miss Blanchard. It's entirely our fault. The thunderstorm yesterday had damaged all the CCTVs and circuit breakers. The elevators have also been undergoing smaintenance and replacement process for the past two days, therefore our intephone didn't work. We'd been working on fixing it. We're truly sorry." Enraged, Alicia helped Jeremy to a side and ordered, "Can't you see that he's not feeling well? Hurry, call for a cab. I'll get him sdry clothes." Although she was already on her own floor, subconsciously, Alicia still pretty much detested having Jeremy in her house. Seeing that he was with a security personnel by the side, she went in to get him Frederick's coat.

As she was putting the coat on him, Jeremy grabbed her hand, coughing as he said, "Ally, about what I told you last night...." "Please think it through, carefully." Before he could finish his sentence, Alicia's reflex action kicked in and she pushed him away. However, she lost her balance and caused them both to almost stumble, which looked like they were holding on to each other. Just as they were about to regain balance, the elevator door beside opened suddenly. As Alicia looked over unintentionally, her eyes met with another pair of dark blue eyes across. Alicia's mouth fell open in surprise.

"Hubby?" Withdrawing her hands abruptly, Alicia turned silent.

Before his eyes, Frederick would have never dreamt of seeing such a scene. At first glance, it was a disheveled Jeremy wearing his coat, and on top of that was an apparent bitemark at the back of his hand. Rushing out of the elevator, Frederick punched Jeremy who fell to the floor. With a loud thud, Jeremy staggered backward and squatted down. With her wits recollected instantly, Alicia stepped forwards and hugged him.

"Hubby, don't do this. Calm yourself down. Don't be mad! We were trapped in the elevator. It's not what you think...." Alicia explained quickly and pulled them apart.

The earlier scene already got Frederick, who was rushing back to see Alicia, fuming. He got even more so upon seeing Alicia trying to defend him. Right at this moment, Call Frederick could see was the way. they looked and dressed. In a fit of rage, Frederick shoved her aside, causing her to almost fall to the ground. He also threw the pair of plushies which he had been holding into the rubbish bin beside the elevator. He then turned away and walked into the elevator. Stepping forward, Alicia grabbed his arm and was almost brought to tears, "Hubby, are you...." A furious Frederick shrugged her off and scolded, "Get off! I don't want to see you again!""" With Frederick storming into the elevator, Alicia got pushed as far as 2 feet away from him. She staggered forward, and Jeremy rushed forward to help her.

"Ally!" With tears rolling down her cheeks, Alicia rushed to the elevator and banged on the door. "Hubby, wait! Don't leave! Letexplain...." He had never said such things to her, nor had he ever been that angry with her.

With her head in a mess, Alicia fell to her knees and sobbed uncontrollably. She continued hitting the door until there was a cut in in her hand. Jeremy, still feeling dizzy, pushed away the security personnel who were holding him and tried to get her on her feet. "Ally, don't do this!" "Go away! Go away! It's your fault that he is angry with me!"

After a loud cry, Alicia got up and wanted to go after Frederick, but only to remember that she was in her pajamas. For a moment, she teared even more and turned around to head back her roomy to get changed. ve Aften taking a few steps, she paused as if she remembered something, and turned around to the rubbish bin to retrieve something thrown away by Frederick. With the plastic wrapping removed, it turned out to be smedium-sized bear plushies in pairs with one in apricot color and another in brown. All bear was holding a red heart-shaped pillow bearing what seemed like a hotel's logo together with the wordings "Greenwich. Green Sky". Holding the bears in each hand, Alicia couldn't stop her tears from falling.

She then took them hand slammed the door behind her.

After washing up, Alicia kept trying to call Frederick's number, but was unanswered.

With her eyes turning as red as a ve rabbit's following the endless crying, Alicia drafted a long text message explaining what had happened in the elevator, which was copied and modified slightly in other messages to be sent to him multiple times. [Dear hubby, this is all a misunderstanding. Nothing happened between him and I. Please don't ignore me. Please.] [Dear, I am sorry. It's my fault. Just cback and punish me, okay?] X Alicia had never expected things to end up this way, thus making her feeling extremely remorseful. But then who would have thought that the elevator would run out of order and Jeremy would be that sickly? Even her head was in a mess.

For the first time, Alicia was not in the mood to go to work. It was also a first for her to be so helpless and felt like the sky was falling. She remained at hfor the entire day in a daze.
