Sargan absorbed half of the soul jewels over the course of dozens of hours. Around half were left, so he would have a backup in case he needed to set up an array instantly.
After advancing his cultivation to some extent, Sargan felt it was time to leave. He knew that it was necessary to prove his value to Rhea, or else, he won't be able to do anything.
Thus, Sargan left his room and headed straight to see her. At this moment, Rhea was training.
"I wish to meet Her Highness," Sargan informed the guards outside her chambers.
"No. Her Highness instructed us to ensure no one disturbs her cultivation," the guards responded flatly.
Sargan rolled his eyes in response, "Yeah, yeah. Tell her it's Sargan."
The demons naturally didn't pay any heed to his words. Instead, they glanced at each other and nodded.
Before long, the demon with that robust body moved his arm and attempted to slice Sargan with his lance.
Sargan easily dodged that strike while muttering, "…You shouldn't have done that." His ruby eyes glinted murderously as he stared at these demons.
He tightened his fist and strongly struck the demon coming to strike him.
The punch was exceptionally powerful as the demon collided with the door to Rhea's chambers, and it crashed open.
However, before the demon could collide with the wall within Rhea's chambers, it was suddenly attacked with purple flames before it turned into ashes.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThis was naturally Rhea's amazing elemental prowess.
Sargan had noticed it with his trained eyes that it was an instinctive reaction.
'Interesting. So, if I had entered her chambers unannounced, she would have attacked me in the same manner?'
"Who dares to attack me?" Rhea's cold voice resounded in her chambers.
The other demon guards entered her chambers while shivering uncontrollably, "…It was this demon, Your Highness. This demon attacked us suddenly."
These guards pointed towards Sargan.
Sargan entered Rhea's chambers with a calm expression.
"I asked them nicely to let me meet you. But they insisted on being rude and stubborn. Also, I merely attacked the one who came forward to strike me," Sargan responded coolly.
"That's not true, Your Highness. This guy is simply twisting the right from the wrong!" A guard shouted.
The other guards supported his statement as they did their best to make Rhea punish Sargan.
"Silence!" Rhea flared her demonic ardor as she calmed down this commotion.
Once these guards quietened down, Rhea glared at Sargan, "And why have you come looking for me at this moment? Couldn't you have waited for some time? You better have a good reason or else…"
Sargan's demeanour remained indifferent as he informed Rhea, "I have a strategy to eliminate spies and informers within your palace." The prospect of unearthing potential traitors immediately caught Rhea's attention, and she asked, "How do you plan to accomplish this?"
With absolute confidence, Sargan replied, "Give me twenty hours, and I will deliver results. If I fail, you have my permission to kill me." After some contemplation, Rhea agreed to the proposal.
As Sargan left her chambers, he knew that finding the spies would not be a daunting task for him. He began his search by stealthily investigating every demon's room. Sargan knew that not all demons were in possession of spatial rings, and thus, their private items would be stored in their rooms.
In just seven hours, Sargan had already identified seven demons with incriminating items. These seven individuals held prominent positions in Rhea's faction, all holding the rank of captain or major. This was a considerable rank, neither too low nor too high.
Sargan realized that the spies had acquired knowledge about the combat capabilities of Rhea's faction, which was concerning.
He immediately formulated a plan and approached Rhea while she was conducting a training session with her demons. She seemed to be instructing them over something.
Rhea noticed his presence and inquired, "Have you completed your task?"
"…Almost. I need to speak to you about that in private," Sargan spoke.
"Very well. You have five minutes," Rhea spoke nonchalantly. She was curious about what he wanted to talk to her about.
The demon guards were surprised as they saw Rhea head to a secluded location with Sargan. They wondered who this new demon was.
As they noticed his humane physique, they guessed that he also possessed a high-ranking bloodline like Rhea.
Sargan's expression remained calm as he spoke, "I conducted a thorough investigation of all your subordinates and found seven spies. Though there are definitely more than seven spies in your faction, these individuals are the most prolific as they possess a rank."
Rhea looked at him sceptically. It seemed impossible for him to have found so many spies in just seven hours. "How can you be sure they are spies?" she asked.
Sargan responded confidently, "Do you believe a mere captain in your faction has the financial means to possess a complete bottle of Extreme Yin Pellets, or Nightshade Blade, Dark Ghostly Lotus, Bloodvine Whip, Moonshadow Boots, Hellfire Claws, and the ultimate of them all, Evil Dragon's Nectar?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmRhea was shaken by his words. "Where are these items?" she demanded.
"I didn't bring them," Sargan replied in a casual tone.
Rhea was infuriated. She couldn't believe he had left behind such valuable items.
"Are you playing games with me? Do you want to die?" she asked, her glare piercing into him.
She even raised her hand to make it seem as if she was going to attack him soon.
Sargan let out a deep sigh while contemplating, 'How foolish. I must admit, I somewhat miss dealing with humans now.'
"I knew you would say that. That's why I brought you something," Sargan said, reaching behind his back and presenting a small, magically appearing bottle.
Rhea thought nothing of it, assuming he had hidden it in his clothes. It was a tiny bottle, so it was natural to assume it could have been concealed easily.
Sargan continued, "This is a small amount of the Evil Dragon's Nectar. I didn't take much to avoid arousing suspicion from its owner."
Rhea opened the bottle, and a pungent aroma filled the air, unlike anything she had smelled before.
"Is this really the Evil Dragon's Nectar?" Rhea asked incredulously.
"You can even drink it to verify its effects," Sargan suggested, rolling his eyes.
"No, I can sense that it's genuine. You can keep it," Rhea replied, closing the bottle and handing it back to Sargan.
"Very well," Sargan said, putting the bottle in his pocket.
After a brief pause, he added, "Now, about the spies. Instead of merely killing them, I have another idea."
"Pray tell," Rhea asked, intrigued.
"Let's use them," Sargan said with a mischievous grin.
