Chapter 359 "Please... please, I'm begging you, we really can't eat anymore." Asher's voice trembled with tears as he pleaded, cheeks bulging from the cake stuffed into his mouth. Cream oozed from the corners of his lips, mixing with his tears, making him look utterly pathetic.

Mandy let out a cold, bone-chilling laugh. "Now you want mercy? Too late." With a swift flick of her butterfly knife, she stabbed Asher precisely in the side of his thigh.

"Aaagh!" Asher howled in agony, his legs buckling beneath him as he collapsed to his knees.

The pain was so intense his vision blurred, but he didn't dare stop chewing. He whimpered, his words muffled by the cake still crammed in his mouth.

The others were wide-eyed with terror, mechanically shoving cake into their mouths, letting the cream smear across their faces without a care.

They ate with difficulty, silent tears streaming down faces streaked with cream, each one marking a trail through the mess.

The private room was filled with the sounds of chewing, gagging, and sobbing.

Mandy paced the room, butterfly knife in hand, strolling as if she were out for a casual walk. Anyone who dared disobey earned themselves a quick slash-she was like an avenging angel of death.

Liam watched this side of Mandy, and she seemed like a complete stranger to him.

This was nothing like the girl he'd first met-back then, she'd seemed sweet and innocent, like a harmless little rabbit.

But now it was clear: the gentle exterior was nothing but a carefully crafted mask. Beneath it all, she was more like a venomous snake, lurking in the shadows, ready to strike back at anyone foolish enough to hurt her or Claire.

Mandy watched as they finished every last crumb of cake, not letting a scrap remain. One by one, they collapsed, groaning, too full and exhausted to even move. Only then did she nod in satisfaction, turn on her heel, and leave.

Outside the Grandeur Hotel, Liam caught up to her. "Mandy, do you have class this afternoon?" She barely spared him a glance. "Why?" "You haven't had a proper birthday yet. I was thinking... if you're free, maybe you could cover to my place. I'd like to celebrate with you." Mandy met his eyes, seeing nothing but honesty reflected back.

She lowered her gaze.

"No need." She turned to leave.

But Liam grabbed her wrist, holding on tightly.

Mandy frowned. "What is it now?" "Mandy, why are you always so cold to me? Before, maybe it was because you thought I was gay. But now? What's your excuse?" Why? Mandy laughed bitterly to herself. The answer was obvious: there could never be anything between them. Soon, she'd be leaving the country with Claire and her mother.

She'd resolved long ago never to let herself get tangled up in a relationship, never to hand over her heart entirely to a man. That kind of reckless devotion was for fools blinded by infatuation.

She'd seen what happened to Claire-she wouldn't make the smistake, wouldn't let herself end up trapped and helpless.

Love? That's just hormones talking.

Give it enough time, and any passion would fade to nothing.

She was sure that once she was abroad, it wouldn't take long before Liam's face meant nothing to her.

After all, there were plenty of tall, blue-eyed, blond-haired guys overseas.

Why cling to one tree when the whole forest was waiting? Mandy told herself this, over and over.

But these thoughts were hers alone.

She would never share them with Liam. She just said coolly, "It was just a bit of fun. No need to take it son sat take seriousty" She paused, then added, "Liam, you really shouldn't get too close to me. Don't forget, I'm not a good person. Killing isn't exactly new to me. It's only a matter of tbefore the police catch up. The closer you are to me, the worse it'll be for you." She yanked her hand free.

There was still so much she needed to do.

Before leaving the country, she was determined to deal. al with everyonen who'd ever hurt Claire-no matter what it took. Even if she was arrested one day, at least Claire would never have to worry about being bullied by scum again.

Liam watched her stubborn silhouette retreat, his heart aching for her.

"Ms. Linwood is wonderful, but you can't lose yourself for her," he m ffor murmured, so softly that the breeze carried his words away. She was a bright, promising girl-why did she have to turn herself into something so cold and ruthless? If her crimes ever cto light, there would be no way back.

Liam wanted to pour out everything in his heart to Mandy.

But he knew it wouldn't matter.

For Mandy, Claire would always cfirst-even if it meant losing everything.
