“Yeah! I've been a little busy before this, so it tookuntil now to finally make sprogress.” | set my tools
down and grabbed my meter ruler. “Alright. Stand still while | take your measurements.”
“Now? But you've got things to do,” Soleil replied.
“Well, everyone else in your family has already had their measurements taken.”
“Yes!”
As | took her measurements, she started chatting excitedly
She complained about Soren working overtbefore being outstation two days ago-and no one knew where
exactly he had gone.
Then she vented about her mom pestering her about dating even mentioning names from their elite circle.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t interested in any of them.
At least now | understood why | hadn’t heard from Soren lately.
“Tay-Tay, you should visit us at hthis weekend! Distract her by chatting with her so she’ll stop breathing

| could only decline. “I don’t think I can for a while, I'm afraid.”
“Busy?”
“No. It's because Maddie died. There's the funeral to attend and... well, | don’t want people to spread rumors
aboutnot respecting the dead or anything.”
“Huh?” Soleil looked stunned. “Maddie... Maddison Jones? The sister who stole your partner?”
“Yeap,”
“So she’s like... gone now?”
“Yeah. A day ago.”
Soleil fell silent for a moment before suddenly asking, “Does that mean that piece of shit is gonna try to get the
two of you back together again?’
| was a little surprised that Soleil would even consider that
Before | could answer her, she cried out, “Don’t, Taylor! Listen to me: do not say yes! A man like that cannot be
salvaged anymore. You deserve way better!”
| smiled. “Don’t worry. Trust me, | know.”
Soleil wasn’t convinced. “Okay, but just one last warning: don’t get back together with him! Nothing good will
cof it-all you'll get from him is regret!”
| was speechless.

Naturally, | ended it.
A few seconds later, someone knocked on my door.
| looked past the manikins and saw Edward standing by the door.
My mood soured. “What are you doing here?”

| could smell the alcohol on him as he walked-inside, so | added with a frown, “Heve you been drinking?!”
He might have recovered from his illness, but that didn’t mean his body was as healthy as a normal person's.
He'd been doing blood transfusions for Maddison’s sake, too, so his condition could only have gotten worse.
“Maybe a little,” he groaned tiredly.
My frown deepened.
“Why didn’t you answer my call?”
“There's nothing to be said between us except our divorce,” | replied before returning to work.
“Maddison’s funeral is this Saturday. At the Metropolis Funeral House.”
“You wantto go?” | asked, surprised.
“It’s your call. I'm just the messenger.”
“Okay.”
Well, I could always just buy several wreaths to show Maddie's spirit how big-hearted a sister | was. But would
Cameron throw a fit if he saw me?
| eyed Edward’s motionless body and said, “There. You delivered your message. You can go now.”
He stared at my work for a while before suddenly asking, “Is that... a man’s suit?”
