Chapter 297:

When Kristopher pocketed his phone and returned to the villa, Belinda and Marc were already seated at the

dining table, enjoying a meal.

Marg, sitting slightly to the side of Belinda, was enthusiastically slurping noodles. He lavished praise on her

culinary skills, exclaiming, “Miss Nelson, this bowl of noodles is the best I've had in years! I've only ever seen

you prepare breakfast for Mr. Cox, and while it looked appealing, | never imagined it would taste this exquisite!”

Somewhat flustered by the continuous compliments, Belinda responded, “If you really enjoy it, I'd be happy to

make it for you again sometime.”

Marc's response was nothing new. He was the fourth person, following Madisyn, Joyce, and Anthony, to acclaim

her cooking.

Her offer immediately lit up Marc's eyes. “Really? Can | look forward to more in the future? It's so...”

Before Marc could finish his words, he was abruptly interrupted. “Enough with the chatter,” a deep male voice

interjected from behind them, adding with a touch of irritation, “You never stop talking, even while eating

noodles.”

Startled, Marc quickly bowed his head and fell silent, instinctively scooting his chair to the side to clear a space

for Kristopher to sit directly opposite Belinda.

Kristopher, observing Marc's quick compliance, raised an eyebrow but remained silent as he took his seat.

The noodles before him had gotten cold, which was less than ideal since he preferred his food hot.

Noticing Kristopher’s displeased look at the cooled noodles, Belinda suggested, “Would you liketo warm

them up for you?”

Still silent, Kristopher pushed the bowl of noodles toward her.

His entitled attitude caused Belinda to frown at him.

Throughout their marriage, she had accommodated his preferences, including reheating his food. Now, despite

their divorce, he seemed to expect her to continue doing so.

Belinda remained still as she caught his expectant look. Kristopher looked up at her and asked, “What's the

matter?”

He appeared genuinely confused, clearly unable to understand what was on her mind.

Belinda paused and then let out a self-deprecating laugh. “It’s nothing,” she finally said.

After all, he had cto her aid the previous night and had suffered injuries as a result. She felt that assisting

him now was not too much to ask. But internally, she vowed this would be the last time.

As she rose with the bowl, ready to head out, she noticed Marc's empty bowl.

Recalling his praise for her noodles, Belinda raised an eyebrow at Marc. “Are you full? There's more in the pot.

Would you liketo get you smore?”

It turned out that Marc was far from satisfied. He had spent the entire night managing the fallout from

Kristopher’s car accident, too preoccupied to sleep or eat.

So when Belinda made her offer, he responded with a grateful smile and handed her his empty bowl. “Thank

you, Miss Nelson,” he said.

With a smile, Belinda quickly took both bowls and headed into the kitchen.
