Chapter 290:

Yet all these stories were mere speculation, unsupported by any proof. Growing weary of the baseless rumors,

Belinda was about to close thewhen a post from Cathy caught her eye.

Cathy had shared an update about the car accident, adding her own somber comment. “May the deceased rest

in peace.”

As Belinda read Cathy's post, a cold sneer crossed her lips.

“Rest in peace?”

Did Cathy truly wish that someone had perished in that dreadful accident? This was no longer mere speculation;

Cathy's actions, sharing the news and adding such a comment, confirmed Belinda’s suspicions. Why on earth

would Cathy be obsessing over this piece of social gossip in the dead of night?

Cathy was famously known among her followers as a fragile girl who cherished her beauty sleep, only staying up

late for shoots. Normally, she wouldn't bother with news outside of showbiz. Yet here she was, not only awake

but sharing the news on social media, accompanied by a solemn “rest in peace” added to her post.

It was clear that she held this news close to her heart.

Could it be that Cathy was thrilled by the news? The thought made Belinda take a deep breath. She captured a

screenshot of Cathy’s post, saved it, and put away her phone. Then, her gaze turned back to the unconscious

man before her.

What would Kristopher think if he woke up to find that Cathy had declared him dead online?

Meanwhile, at Peace Hospital, the atmosphere in one particular room was anything but subdued.

Cathy, having tossed aside her usual demure persona and no longer pretending to be a patient battling cancer,

cracked open a can of cold cola. After finishing it, she hurled the empty can to the floor and let out a loud belch.

“Sweet!”

Even sweeter, though, was the news that Belinda and Fred had been in an accident.

“Cathy,” her agent Jessa called out, bending down to retrieve the can, her brow furrowed in disapproval. “That

post you made—don’t you think it’s a bit over the line? Those online rumors about the man and woman being

carted off by a hearse are just that—rumors without proof. Posting about them resting in peace now... if they

aren't actually dead, you could be accused of spreading false rumors.”

“Whatever,” Cathy replied nonchalantly, lounging against the bed’s headboard with a bag of chips in hand. “The

car was totaled, and the vehicles of our men pursuing them exploded. Even if those two survived, they're

probably badly hurt. If it turns out...”

“They aren't dead, Ill just pull the post and apologize, claiming | got too caught up in the social media frenzy,

right?”

Jessa’s concern remained evident. “Why not delete the post now? It’s late, and hardly anyone has seen it yet...”

Cathy paused, looking at her agent with a hint of irritation. “What are you implying? That because I'm glad that

woman ran into trouble and shared an update, you can dictate my actions?”

“Cathy,” Jessa said calmly, maintaining her composure. “We're still in the dark about the identities of those two,

so your post is irrelevant for now. But imagine if it later comes out that the woman is Belinda... What then?

You've already lost face tonight because of her, and now, after her accident in the wee hours, you've gone ahead

and posted ‘rest in peace.’ If word gets out, even if you're innocent, suspicion will fall on you.”

Message from Noah: Have a great weekend dear ones. God loves you and Noah wishes you all the best. (J ¢ © -
