Chapter 248:
Without waiting for Belinda’s response, he was about to hang up as usual, but Belinda stopped him.
“Mr. Nelson.” Belinda took a deep breath, gripping her phone tightly. “You remember tomorrow is Gillian’s
birthday, but do you even know when mine is?”
Belinda was actually born two days before Gillian, on the 15th, while Gillian’s birthday was on the 17th.
Due to a mix-up, their official records had their birthdays switched. Belinda thought her birthday was on the 17th
for the first seventeen years of her life. After the truth cout, although the official records couldn't be
changed, she started celebrating her birthday on the 15th. Gillian then began celebrating her birthday on the
17th.
Despite celebrating Gillian’s birthday on the 15th for seventeen years, the Nelsons seemed to suffer from
selective memory loss once the dates were switched back. They forgot the 15th was ever a birthday, recognizing
only the 17th as the special day for their beloved Gillian.
Confronted with Belinda’s question, Donovan paused. “Your birthday? Oh, that was yesterday.”

busy. How can we remember if you don’t remind us?”
Belinda responded with a bitter laugh. “Is it really that you can’t remember, or just choose not to?”
“Does it make a difference?” Donovan scoffed. “Alright, here’s your belated birthday wish. Happy birthday, okay?
Now, make sure to bring Mr. Cox to...”
“Mr. Nelson,” Belinda interrupted, taking a deep breath. “Aren’t you keeping up with the news from Nawrin? I'm
no longer married to Kristopher.”
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before Donovan's laughter broke through, cold and
mocking. “What's this joke you're telling? You and Mr. Cox are divorcing?” His voice sharp with disbelief, he
recalled past promises. “Remember—when Mr. Cox first regained consciousness? He vowed never to forget your
devotion after you cared for him for six months. He wouldn't just turn you away...”

Belinda cut in sharply. “I'm the one who asked for the divorce.”
“Impossible!” Donovan interjected before she could explain further, his laughter cold and mocking once again.
“You adore Mr. Cox, always ready to cater to his every need. You were even willing to marry him while he was
comatose. How can you now claim you want a divorce?” He paused, his tone becoming cold. “You must be
fabricating excuses just to avoid buying a gift for Gillian’s birthday and bringing Mr. Cox along. Your excuse is
laughably weak!”
Belinda remained silent. Instead of responding, she sent a link to the news article about her divorce with
Kristopher directly to Gillian. Almost instantly, an astonished exclamation burst from the phone, “They really got
divorced!”
Belinda was unfazed by Gillian’s reaction. She had specifically sent the link to Gillian instead of Donovan
because she knew Gillian and Kasey Nelson, Belinda’s biological mother, would be eavesdropping on Donovan's
call.
“Did they really get divorced?” At that moment, the Nelsons, preoccupied with their phone call, abruptly turned
their attention to Gillian. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they stared at the news on the phone screen. “They
actually got divorced!”
“How did that happen?”
