Chapter 234:
“Mr. Cox, take care...”
Ryland’s voice trailed after Kristopher, overly deferential as he bid him farewell.
It was only when Kristopher caught up with Belinda by the elevator that Ryland discreetly looked away, gently
closing the office door and returning to his desk.
He lifted his teacup, took a thoughtful sip, then turned on his computer and logged into the company’s
surveillance system. As he watched Belinda and Kristopher exit the elevator side by side on the screen, a slight
smile played at the corners of Ryland’s mouth.
Darren had indeed secured a valuable deal for the company.
It was clear that Kristopher still harbored feelings for his former wife.
When Belinda stepped out of the office building, she opened the passenger door and was about to climb in when
she noticed a woman's lipstick resting on the seat.
With a frown, she slammed the door shut and opted to sit in the back seat instead.

He couldn't suppress a chuckle. “Do you want to keep your distance from me?”
Belinda pointed at the lipstick on the front passenger seat. “It’s Miss Miller's favorite color. She left her lipstick
here on your seat. Her intentions couldn’t be clearer. | certainly don’t want to cause any trouble.”
Kristopher glanced at the lipstick and frowned. “When she was trying on the dress, she sat here to adjust her
makeup. It’s probably just an oversight.”
Belinda scoffed and chose not to continue the argument.
Just then, Kristopher’s phone rang.
It was Cathy.

In the cramped space of the car, Cathy's voice seemed to fill every corner. “Where are you, Kristopher? When |
changed with Maggie and cout, you weren't there. The shop assistant mentioned you'd stepped out. Where
did you go?”
Hearing the barrage of questions from Cathy, Kristopher raised his eyebrows in displeasure and replied, “I went
to pick up Belinda.”
On the other end of the line, Cathy yelled, “Why are you looking for Belinda?”
Kristopher paused before answering, “You and Maggie only try on clothes, but clothes look their best when
paired with the right jewelry. Now that you've signed an agreement with Belinda, she’ll be your jewelry assistant
for a while. Don’t you think it’s a good idea to let her help with the jewelry?”
On the other end of the line, Cathy snorted. “Maybe | know more about jewelry than she does.”
After a brief silence, she asked, “When are you coming back? | don’t want you spending too much talone
with her.”
Hearing this, Kristopher frowned and was about to respond when Belinda’s indifferent voice cut in. “We have set
off, Miss Miller.”
Belinda’s sudden interruption startled Cathy.
A slight scream escaped Cathy, followed by a tone filled with both anger and grievance. “What's going on?
Kristopher, did you put our conversation on speakerphone? How could you do this?”
Her voice grew increasingly aggrieved, even breaking into sobs. “You let another woman hear what | said to you.
You don’t respectat all!”
