Chapter 219:

“There's no hurry. We'll go for a ride after Kristopher and | get engaged,” Cathy answered.

“Oh, that's right! Kristopher’s proposing in two days! He's kept it so under wraps that he hasn't breathed a word

to anyone... | almost forgot!”

“Kristopher probably wants it to be a surprise. I'm not rushing things. As long as he’s finally divorced, I'm fine

with waiting to get engaged or married.”

“But Kristopher seems to be in a hurry; he finalized his divorce yesterday just to stay on track for the

engagement. Aren't you thrilled?”

“lI am, of course...”

Their conversation trailed off as they walked away.

Rubbing her temples, Belinda hefted the box she had fetched from the stuand headed towards the

photoshoot site with determined steps. It felt like sharsh twist of fate was mocking her.

Cathy and Maggie had just arrived from the exact location Belinda needed to be.

It was clear from the circumstances that they were the headliners of today’s photo session, with Belinda tasked

to assist by providing jewelry.

Had Belinda been aware of this beforehand, she wouldn't have proposed to take on this task.

However, finding herself already at the venue, she resolved to see it through.

“Are you the jewelry assistant from Wildfield Design Studio? Your team is always so late!” a production assistant

berated Belinda as she entered. “Do you even realize who's wearing your studio’s pieces today? It’s the celebrity

sensation Cathy Miller and her boyfriend's sister, Maggie Cox! Normally, they wouldn't be caught dead in your

designs, yet here they are, doing a favor for the magazine, and you've kept them waiting!”

Belinda absorbed the reproach with patience, then responded with a soft smile, “I'm so sorry. Where should | set

up the jewelry? When does the shoot begin?”

The assistant’s frustration waned at her composed response and courteous inquiry. “Over there, get everything

ready.”

Guided by his instructions, Belinda made her way backstage to organize the jewelry with the help of the

wardrobe team.

Soon enough, Cathy and Maggie were back, and the preparations for the shoot kicked off in full swing.

To sidestep any potential complications, Belinda slipped on a baseball cap and mask, seamlessly merging with

the surroundings. Throughout the filming that day, she remained unnoticed.

As dusk settled, she breathed a quiet sigh of relief, satisfied with the uneventful day.

However, she hadn't anticipated Kristopher’s visit to the set.

At that moment, Belinda was delicately undoing the clasp on Cathy's necklace when Kristopher appeared.

“Kristopher!” Cathy exclaimed, her face lighting up at the sight of him. She stood abruptly, eager to greet him.

Caught off guard by Cathy’s sudden movement, Belinda was still holding the necklace.

“Ah!” Cathy cried out as the chain tightened unexpectedly around her neck, causing her pain.
