Chapter 208:
“Kristopher?” Maggie, noticing Kristopher’s attention on the car and Belinda, frowned in disappointment. “Say
something. Is this car meant for Cathy?”
Snapped back to reality by Maggie's voice, Kristopher shifted his gaze from Belinda, who stood near Fred, to
Cathy, whose eyes sparkled with admiration for the car.
He massaged his throbbing forehead and decided, “If Cathy wants it, she can have it.”
“Really!?” Cathy's voice was filled with excitement, and at his confirmation, she jumped for joy. She momentarily
forgot her status as a “terminally ill patient” and sprinted forward with a burst of energy, throwing herself into
Kristopher’s embrace. “Kristopher, I'm over the moon! This is a limited edition car, not something you can just
buy, even if you have the money! You got it just because | mentioned a few times that I liked it! Oh my gosh, |
can’t believe this. You treatso well!”

Belinda watched the display with a frown.
She hadn’t expected Kristopher to make such an extravagant gesture for Cathy. Moreover, she was taken aback
to learn that the car she had been driving all afternoon was meant to be a gift for Cathy.
So disgusting.
Had she known the car's true owner, she would have much preferred to stay at home, enjoying a coffee and
watching TV s with Madisyn.
“Kristopher, where are the keys?” Maggie chimed in, her eyes gleaming as she admired the car. “Let Cathy take

“The keys are with me,” Belinda declared, her expression stern as she pulled the car keys from her pocket and
walked over to Kristopher and Cathy, holding them out to Cathy. “Here.”
Cathy’s eyes widened in surprise, and her tone sharpened. “Why do you have my car keys?”
Belinda simply turned away without a word, her steps quickening as she tried to leave.
The entire afternoon had been spent driving a car meant as a gift for Cathy from Kristopher, and now her skin
crawled with an unsettling prickliness.
“Wait a minute,” Maggie's voice halted her after just two strides. She caught up to Belinda, seizing her wrist
firmly. “Why do you have the car keys? Did the car's price tag tempt you to take it, only to bring it back after you
were caught?”
As Maggie spoke, her certainty in her own assumptions grew. Her eyes narrowed with scorn as she faced Belinda.
“You had the nerve to cto this divorce celebration because you were forced to return the car and grovel to
Kristopher, didn’t you?”
Helen agreed vehemently, “That sounds about right. Belinda has always been so concerned with her image. She
wouldn't face such embarrassment here unless she had no other choice.”
Her gaze swept over Belinda’s slender frwith a sneer. “Clearly, she’s here because she was caught stealing
and couldn't escape the consequences.”
