Chapter 567 A quick 20 minutes later, the car pulled up to its destination. Brad was the first to get out, and he walked around the car to open the door for Nadine. When she stepped out, he protectively placed his hand above the car door, ensuring she wouldn't hit her head.
Once she was out of the car, he looked at her hopefully. Without sparing him a glance, Nadine walked past him and waited for Sean to get out. As soon as the little guy hopped out, she took his hand and led him toward the restaurant's entrance.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIn truth, she felt a little thrown off by Brad's behavior. In her mind, he had always been aloof. He had only ever been gentle with Jean. He never cared for anyone else, including his mother and younger sister.
Brad was not only aloof but also loved bossing people around and wanted everyone to follow his orders. But then again, that was just how speople were-born leaders.
He had a short temper and was impatient with everyone. Hence, even though she noticed the hopeful look in his eyes, she didn't give in. Why would she let Brad join her and Sean for dinner? She could already imagine how irritating he would be.
Nadine was a kind and genuine person, but she just couldn't bring herself to be nice to Brad. Had he been kinder to her, they wouldn't have ended up like this. Without a backward glance, she held Sean's little hand and walked straight into the restaurant, as if Brad wasn't even there.
Sean, on the other hand, kept turning around to look at Brad. He walked slowly, looked up at Nadine, and asked softly, "Mommy, are we not going to let Daddy join us? This place is really expensive, so shouldn't he be the one to pay? Mommy, you work so hard for money. You should just let him foot the bill." Before she could respond, Brad hastily approached them and said eagerly, "I'm the one who offered to take Sean out, so I should be the one to foot the bill. If it makes you uncomfortable, I can sit at the table next to yours." Since he was so humble and accommodating, she decided not to push him away anymore. Standing in the biting cold, she glanced at him and responded apathetically, "We don't need two tables-one will do. There's no need to take up extra space in the restaurant." At this point, she really didn't want to see Brad. Even the sight of him made her feel uncomfortable. However, since he was being so polite and considerate, it would be rude of her to be hostile to him.
Worried that his mother would change her mind, Sean quickly grabbed Brad's hand and said, "Let's go in, Daddy!" Earlier, when his father cto pick him up, he'd made another deal with him. If he helped Brad out, he'd grant him two wishes. Sean thought it was a good deal and was willing to go along with it. However, he had one condition: he couldn't hurt his mom.

The tall and elegant man's handsface broke into a smile when he heard Nadine's response. "Alright, whatever you say." And just like that, the three of them walked into the restaurant, hand in hand.
As soon as the waiter noticed the family of three, he stepped forward to greet them. "Welcome! How many people are there in He noticed Brn your group today? sophisticated air, well-tailored designer clothes, and remarkable attractiveness. The waiter couldn't help but steal a few extra glances at him. "Two adults and a child," Brad promptly responded.
The waiter smiled warmly at the trio. "Right this way. I'll arrange a table by the window for you. How does that sound?"
Instead of responding, Brad turned to m look at Nadine, offering her the respect she deserved. Nadine wasn't one to fuss over the little things, so she smiled at the waiter. "The table by the window is fine."
