"But Grandpa, you can't just skip your medication because you've been feeling better lately."
Adam had a chronic illness that could only be managed with medication. But he hated taking medicine-he found
the taste unpleasant. So, he'd often throw the medicine away in secret.
If he began feeling unwell, he'd take the medicine for a few days until he felt better. Then, he'd stop again. Travis
couldn't do anything about it except inform Nadine about it.
Coaxing Adam was beyond his power. Only Nadine was capable of persuading him.
Not expecting to be busted, Adam glowered at Travis and bellowed, "You talk too much, and it's annoying! I'm
perfectly aware of my condition. Stop worrying over nothing!"
Travis didn't dare to respond. He kept his head down and cast several looks at Nadine, hoping she would

Nadine immediately caught on. As she massaged Adam's temples, she began, "Grandpa, how could you blame
Mr. Jenkins? | clearly saw you dumping the medicine on the security cameras.
"You must heed the doctor's advice. Otherwise, | won't bring Sean to visit you anymore."
No matter how strained things got between her and Brad, she still respected Adam a lot. She could cut ties with
Brad, but she couldn't do the swith Adam. After all, she couldn't reject someone who genuinely cared for
her.
Upon realizing that she wouldn't let him meet his precious great-grandson, Adam grew agitated. "What did you
say? You won't letmeet Sean? No way! If you do that, | won't take my medicine!"
He snapped his head away from her promptly.
Amused by his petulant behavior, Nadine shook her head helplessly and said, "Grandpa, | already told you that |
am going to bring Sean to visit you as long as you take your medicine on time. Why are you acting up like this?
"Or do you prefer letting Sean see you in a miserable state?"
As soon as Nadine mentioned Sean, Adam immediately beccompliant. "Fine. You're right! I'll listen to you
and take my medicine on time, okay?"
Travis timely handed over the medicine to him. Without another word, he gulped down his medicine.
Feeling amazed, Travis gave Nadine a thumbs up. "Nadine, only you are capable of managing him. He always
listens to you. You should cvisit more often."
As they were engrossed in a jovial conversation, the door suddenly opened and Brad cinto view.

Dressed in a black coat with a houndstooth scarf wrapped around his neck, Brad looked dashing. His fitting pants
hugged his legs nicely, and he naturally drew everyone's attention in his camel-colored high-top boots.
As if she hadn't acknowledged his presence at all, Nadine immediately averted her gaze.
Adam scrutinized Brad, then his gaze darted toward Nadine. Noticing her expression, he becvery upset with
Brad.
Scowling at him, he began sarcastically, "Oh, what a rare sight! I'm astounded to see you visiting me, this old
geezer, instead of Jean. Pinch me, Nadine. | must be dreaming."
Immediately launching a tirade of sarcastic remarks at him, Adam didn't even bother to offer Brad a seat. From
his experience, he could tell from Nadine's expression that Brad must've angered her again.
