Chapter 186 My Wife Will Really Use It

In confrontations between women, the fights typically lacked strategy-just pulling hair and scratching faces,

each strike meant to scar.

Caught off guard, Hadley felt compelled to intervene.

“Where do you think you're heading?” Eric swiftly held her back, his expression concerned. “This is your friend's

personal issue. Do you think she really wants your help?”

Hadley stopped, torn.

Just then, a man emerged hastily from the background.

“Let her handle it!” he shouted.

He caught Elissa by the arm, yanking her back. His face displayed a mix of disgust and anger.

“Elissa, have you no self-respect? Calm down, you're causing a scene!”

Elissa halted, tears welling up, her hair a mess as she shot a glare at the man.

“Robin! How much longer will you let this go on?”

She gestured towards the woman next to him. “A new girlfriend already? And she looks twice your age!”

“Who are you calling old?”

The woman, clearly offended, seized the moment while the man, Robin Torres, held Elissa back to strike Elissa

across the face.

“Mind your words, Elissa! | mean it!”

The force of the slap whipped Elissa’s head to the side.

Robin hesitated. He was about to say something more, but Elissa wriggled free and charged at the woman.

“You still want more?”

Elissa clasped her hands in the woman's hair.

“Ah... Robin.”

“Elissa!” Robin quickly stepped in, pulling her away. “Enough of this!”

“Humph!”

The woman smirked. “You had that coming for hitting me!”

She scrutinized Elissa from head to toe with scorn. “Tsk, what good is youth? It's useless if you can’t hold onto

aman...”

Hadley had enough and was about to intervene.

“Hold on!” Eric restrained her yet again.

“Letgo!” Hadley protested angrily. “Don’t you see? They're all against Elissa!”

“Really?” Eric gave a knowing smirk and nodded towards the man. “That's Robin Torres.”

Hadley was taken aback. “You know him?”

“Only by association,” Eric explained. “I've done business with the Torres family. The point is, Robin’s a married

man.”

He recalled being at Robin's wedding.

Still, Eric tended to disregard those he deemed unimportant, and thus he couldn't recall what Mrs. Torres looked

like.

“What?” Hadley was shocked.

Robin was married? Was Elissa aware of this?

“Robin is notorious for his personal escapades,” Eric murmured with a sigh.

Despite being married, his disregard for his wife and his rampant infidelity were an open secret in their circles.

Eric sighed, and then delicately asked, “Does your friend know about Robin’s marital status? If she’s aware and

still involves herself with him, | hate to say it, but she’s setting herself up for trouble.”

This revelation was tough for Hadley to digest initially.

However, she had more pressing concerns to address at the moment!

Glancing around, her eyes caught sight of a small flower bed enclosed by bricks.

With swift steps, Hadley approached, seized a brick, and made her way decisively towards Elissa.

“Hadley!”

Eric, taken aback, suddenly recalled an incident where Hadley had defended herself using half a brick against an

assailant, which had resulted in a police case!

Without hesitating, he quickly followed after her.

Bang!

At the hotel’s threshold, Hadley swung her arm, smashing the brick against the door frand shouted,

“Enough!”

The sharp sound halted everyone in their tracks.

Elissa stood still, tears welling up in her eyes. “Hadley...”

Robin glanced over. “Is she with you?”

“Why do you care?” Brandishing the bluestone brick, Hadley’s eyes blazed as she warned, “Let her go! Now!”

She then turned to the older woman, grinning fiercely. “Think this brick is just for decoration?”

The woman recoiled, but then scoffed, “Trying to frighten me? You think | scare that easily?”

“No joke,” Eric chimed in nonchalantly as he ascended the steps, his demeanor composed and assured.

He eyed Robin and gestured towards the older woman.

“Better take this seriously. My wife here will actually use it,” he warned.

His wife?

Hadley, taken aback, stared at Eric. Had he forgotten they were no longer married?

Catching her gaze, Eric offered a warm smile. “Need a hand with that brick?”

Hadley scowled slightly, turning her head. “I've got this.”

The older woman stood stock-still.

Where on earth did these lunatics cfrom?

“Mr. Flynn.”

Though Robin didn’t know Eric well, he recognized him. His eyes shifted between Hadley and Elissa. Did Elissa

know Eric’s supposed wife?

Eric was not someone to provoke lightly, yet Robin found it hard to just walk away.

With a strained smile, he said, “Mr. Flynn, this is a private matter. You needn't involve yourself, right?”

He then let go of Elissa, adding, “She Pedfirst.”

Elissa stumbled backward.

“Elissa!”

Hadley swiftly moved to stabilize her friend, while Eric took the opportunity to relieve her of the brick, his

expression easing.

Why was she even handling bricks? Didn't she realize she could get hurt?

His annoyance grew towards Robin, who had stirred up trouble right in front of Hadley.

His gaze hardened as he addressed Robin, saying, “Tfor you to go, isn’t it?”

Robin, clearly startled, shot a glance at Elissa. “Mr. Flynn, we're leaving now.”

He then turned to the older woman. “Catch up!”

The woman hurried to Robin's side, gripping his arm as they exited.

Eric watched them leave with a shake of his head, disdain apparent.

Men like Robin were not rare in their social circles, but Eric had little respect for them.

Elissa’s gaze followed Robin, her eyes brimming with hatred.

“Elissa,” Hadley said, supporting her friend. “Should we head to the hospital to check on those injuries?”

“No, that won't be necessary.” Elissa brushed off the suggestion, her expression forlorn. “They're just minor

scrapes.”

The injuries were only on the surface.

A hospital could mend her physical injuries, yet the deeper emotional scars would remain untouched.

“Do you want a ride home?” Hadley did not press the issue further and simply changed the subject.

Visibly tired, Elissa agreed. “Okay, thank you.”

“You're welcome.”

Eric drove them back to Redmarsh, where Hadley helped Elissa out of the car and into her apartment, while Eric

waited outside.

Inside, after Hadley applied simple first aid to Elissa’s minor injuries, she hesitated before speaking up.

“Elissa,” she said cautiously. “I usually stay out of others’ private matters, but Eric let slip that Robin is

married...”

Elissa’s expression changed briefly, and she attempted to speak but eventually stopped herself.

Continuing, Hadley added softly, “Moreover, Eric remarked on how turbulent Robin's personal life is. He seems

indifferent about his partners. The woman he’s with in the morning could differ from the one at night...”

At this, Elissa shut her eyes, and silent tears began to stream down her cheeks.
