Chapter 821 "You know, your mom can only have one man, and that man is me!" said Everett, playfully but with a hint of seriousness, as he scooped up his son and marched towards the kids' room.
Once inside, he found Haley sprawled across the bed, lost in a deep sleep. Her little feet had kicked off the covers, and she lay there with an air of confidence, her dress bunched up around her tummy, showing her soft, round belly.

On the other hand, Mateo was his miniin looks but took after his mom in temperament, especially in the way he knew just how to push Everett's buttons. Tucking both kids snugly under the covers, Everett planted a loving kiss on each of their foreheads before turning to leave.
But Mateo grabbed his finger, prompting Everett to turn back around. Before Mateo could say a word, Everett warned, "If you mention your mom finding another man again, I might have to reconsider our father-son bond." Mateo quickly sat up, clutching his dad with a worried look. "Dad, Mom's not feeling well." Everett paused, a crease forming between his brows. "What's the matter? Does she have a cold or a fever?" She had looked so vibrant earlier, not at all like someone who was sick.
Mateo shook his head. "I'm not sure, but I saw her taking a lot of medicine secretly every day." "People usually take medicine when they're sick." Medicine?? Why would she need medicine if she seemed perfectly fine? "Alright, I get it. Now be a good boy and go to sleep." Everett tucked Mateo back into bed, adding, "And remember, don't tell your mom I was here tonight, okay?" Mateo nodded slowly.
Everett quietly left the children's room and headed to the master bedroom. After rummaging through the nightstand and Selena's bag, he found a bottle of pills without any labels or instructions. He took a few pitts, pocketed them, and slipped out quietly.
The next morning, when Alex cto pick up Everett, he handed her the pills. "Can you find out exactly what these are?" Alex looked puzzled. "Where did these cfrom, Mr. Everett? Are you feeling unwell?" Everett settled into the back seat, responding calmly, "These are the ones Selena has been taking recently." Ah, that made sense. Alex took the seat next to the driver. "Got it, I'll handle it." The car smoothly rolled out of the estate. Suddenly, Alex remembered something and said it to Everett, which brought a faint, almost imperceptible smile to his lips.
Later that afternoon, Alex entered the office and placed a report on Everett's desk, her expression serious. "Mr. Everett, it seems your wife is experiencing a severe relapse of depression." Everett, immersed in his work, looked up sharply. "Depression relapse?" The term was both unfamiliar and yet hit close to home.

Alex continued, "Do you remember? During those years abroad, shem battled depression and only got through it with little Mateo's helmet
Thing seemed to stabilize after you reconciled and had your daughter! But now with the relapse... it might En have something to do with you..." Because of him?
Everett felt a tremor run through him as he grabbed the report, reading it intently. The more he read, the darker ve his expression grew. After a moment, he clenched the paper in his hand, his voice rough as be instructed, "Get in touch with Selena's doctor. I need to meet him!"
