Chapter 206 Finding Out That Nancy Has Been Kidnapped

“I have completed the necessary paperwork for your discharge from the hospital. You are free to leave whenever

you wish.”

With those words, Nicholas left the hospital ward.

His departing figure exuded pride and determination.

There was no hint of lingering emotions or reluctance.

Madelline couldn’t help but laugh cynically.

He wants me to stay away from him as much as possible? Ha! That’s what he desires. Very well, then. I will grant

his wish.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Two middle-aged men-and-women entered.

They stood respectfully in front of Madelline and said, “Ms. Madelline, Mr. Sallow has hired us to take care of you. If

you need anything, please let us know.”

Both women assisted Madelline into her wheelchair.

After leaving the hospital, Madelline returned home.

Once they brought her to the bedroom, she dismissed them from the room.

Alone in the room, she locked the door.

She then wheeled herself to the bathroom and filled the bathtub.

When the water was ready, she attempted to enter the bathtub.

Since she had no one to help her, it was quite challenging. Fortunately, she still had some strength in her legs,

although she was still quite weak.

After great effort, Madelline finally managed to get into the bathtub.

She took out the knife she had prepared, gritted her teeth, and made a cut on her wrist.

Blood began to flow.

Drop by drop, the fresh blood fell into the water in the tub.

When Madelline saw the red ripples, she weakly smiled.

Perfect. That’s exactly the effect I want.

Madelline knew Nicholas had a compassionate heart.

Blood continued to flow. Madelline glanced down. The water in the bathtub had turned red.

She smiled with satisfaction.

Then, she picked up her phone and deliberately recorded a video of herself.

“I love you, Nicholas. If you want me to leave, don’t worry. No matter how difficult it may be, I will fulfill

your wish. I love you, Nicholas. I love you so much that I am willing to sacrifice everything. I will use my life to fulfill

your wish. I wish you and Nancy the best, Nicholas. Goodbye forever!”

Madelline pretended to accidentally expose her bloody wrist and the blood-filled water in the bathtub.

After finishing her words, her phone slipped from her hand into the bathtub as she closed her eyes and lay there in

silence.

The water had turned cold.

It was very cold.

She had lost a significant amount of blood, and she had little strength left.

She was in pain, but she was unafraid.

Madelline was taking a gamble. She was betting that Nicholas would save her and that he wouldn’t bear to let her

die.

When Nicholas received the call, he had just finished signing the contract. He didn’t anticipate the impending crisis.

His phone beeped, indicating that he had received a message from Madelline.

After glancing at it, he pocketed his phone without opening it.

Since he had already made his intentions clear, he believed it was best to sever any unnecessary ties.

It was not in anyone’s best interest, and it was unfair to Nancy.

He had allowed Nancy to be hurt once. He couldn’t hurt her again.

However, ten minutes later, Nicholas’ emergency ringtone blared.

He answered the call. “Hello?”

“Mr. Sallow, we are the ones responsible for looking after Ms. Madelline. Ms. Madelline is behaving very strangely.

As soon as she arrived home, she chased us all out. She is alone in the room now. Furthermore, water keeps

flowing out of the house. I checked the water, and it is red. It is all bloody. Mr. Sallow, do you think something

happened to Ms. Madelline?”

Nicholas immediately checked Madelline’s message.

He was shocked when he saw Madelline’s video.

She had attempted to take her own life.

He never expected her to do such a thing.

Is it because I told her to stay away from me?

Nicholas hurriedly got into his car and raced to Madelline’s place..

When he arrived at the door, he commanded, “Break down the doors.”

All the doors were shattered, and when Nicholas entered the bathroom, it was already filled with bloody water.

Madelline lay in the bathtub. Blood continued to drip from her wrist into the bathtub. The bathtub was filled with

blood, and the room was permeated with the stench of blood.

“Madelline? Wake up, Madelline! Answer me, Madelline!” Nicholas shouted.

The woman in the bathtub did not respond.

Nicholas gently tapped her face before lifting her out of the bathtub while shouting, “Call an ambulance! Quickly!”

The ambulance arrived promptly, Nicholas placed Madelline on the stretcher without hesitation.

He was drenched in bloody water.

It was a chaotic scène.

The paramedic called out, “Are you riding in the ambulance?”

“I…”

Just as Nicholas was about to enter the ambulance, his phone rang.

It was a call from Nancy.

Excitedly, he answered the call and greeted, “Nancy…”

Instead, he heard a man’s voice. “I am not your wife.”

Nicholas was stunned, and his heart raced. He clenched his phone as his demeanor became imposing. “Who are

you? Why do you have my wife’s phone?”

“You don’t need to know that. All you need to know is that if you want your wife to stay alive, you must do as I say.

In exchange for her life, have 7.5 million ready by 9.00 AM tomorrow. Otherwise, your wife is as good as dead. Do

you understand? I want 7.5 million in cash. I have given you ample time. I will not accept anything less. If you dare

to involve the police, I will kill her. You will never see your wife again.”

The call ended before Nicholas could even think or respond.

Silence filled the air.

However, Nicholas felt as though his head was spinning.

Otherwise, I will never see her again.

Nicholas felt his heart constrict with agony.

The pain was so intense that he struggled to breathe.

My Nancy. How can such a fragile young woman survive a kidnapping?

Nicholas longed to confront her kidnappers.

Just then, the emergency responder called out once more, asking, “Are you going to come or not?”
