Chapter 105 Win Him Over
Josephine unconsciously took a step back when she felt the frosty air he emanated.
“We’re leaving,” Lewis stated after grabbing hold of her wrist.
Her lips were pursed as she silently followed behind him. She stumbled multiple times and almost fell
as she couldn’t keep up with his brisk pace. She was shoved into the car, and the door was slammed
shut before she could pull herself upright. The sound was deafeningly loud.
He remained silent during the drive back to the villa, and upon reaching, he got down, opened her door,
and dragged her out of the car. She faltered behind him, struggling to keep up, desperate to break free
from his tight grip.
Josephine fell forward and landed on her knees when he abruptly flung her. The pain from the impact
on her knees was so intense that her vision momentarily blacked out. Her mouth was open, and her
hands were braced on the ground as her tears flowed uncontrollably, Raising her head, she looked at
the enraged man before her with watery eyes.
With an intense glare and a scornful laugh, Lewis confronted her. “Have I been too lenient with you,
Josephine? Is that why you dare to disregard my words as empty threats?”
She shrank back upon hearing his threatening tone and frantically shook her head. She raised her
hands to sign, but Lewis shoved her to the ground before she could even form a single sign.
“Stop signing!”
She was seized with terror.
He clamped down on her hands with so much force that it felt as though her bones would break.
“What’s the point in you signing? You don’t take my words seriously or remember anything I’ve said.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtYour hands are unnecessary since you refuse to listen, so why don’t you become a true mute?”
Josephine was stunned and looked at him with utter disbelief.
Lewis made direct eye contact as he glared at her, looking as though he wanted to hack her into a
million pieces. It was clear that he was outraged.
She opened her mouth and tried to make a sound but failed.
The rage behind his eyes grew when he saw this, and he squeezed her delicate wrists with
much force.
Her entire body trembled from the pain, and she could even hear her bones cracking. She curled up
from the pain and looked pleadingly at him, but he was unmoved.
He remained silent, recognizing the futility of conversing with someone who couldn’t respond, as it
would be akin to speaking to himself. Gripping her wrists tightly, he made his way up the stairs.
Josephine stumbled along behind him and was practically dragged up the
stairs.
He threw her onto the bedroom floor, squatted down, grabbed her chin, and said, “Since care so much
about Mrs. Jinkins, you can forget about seeing her again!”

Josephine shook her head vehemently, held on to his sleeve with one hand, and begged him. with her
eyes.
He mercilessly shook off her hand and turned to leave, but she threw herself at him and clung to his
leg.
Lewis’ expression was dark as he looked down at her.
She looked at him with tearful eyes and shook her head again. She hated that she couldn’t speak and
was utterly powerless to do something as simple as begging for sympathy. Desperately clinging to his
leg, she summoned all her strength and slowly rose to her feet, enduring the pain in her knees.
He stayed where he was, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
The rapid thumping of his heart echoed in her ears, signaling his growing fury. Embracing him tightly,
she lifted her gaze to meet his face, continuing her plea through her eyes. Parting her lips, she silently
mouthed, “Please, don’t.”
He lowered his gaze to her and watched as she stiffly attempted to form words with her lips.
“I’m begging you,” she mouthed.
His voice resonated with depth as he tilted her chin upwards, no longer seething with anger. He asked,
“Don’t you think it’s too late for you to be begging me?”
Josephine shook her head and tightened her arms around his waist. She knew he didn’t love. her, but
this method seemed to work every time. Even if she couldn’t get him to change hist mind, she could at
least get him to calm down. She buried her face in his chest like a spoiled. child. Most people wouldn’t

He was calmer than earlier, but he still stood there stiffly and didn’t hug her back. Tilting her head back
and raising herself to the tips of her toes, she kissed his lower jaw, throat, and lips. in an attempt to win
him over. Her clumsy and appeasing demeanor ignited a fire in him. He suddenly raised his hand,
placed it on the base of her skull, and deepened the kiss while picking her up and carrying her to the
bed. She briefly stiffened before she quickly relaxed, closed her eyes, and reciprocated his kiss. His
movements tended to be rough when he was angry, and the same goes for his kissing, which seemed
as though it would devour her lips every time.

Gripping the bed sheet tightly, she opened her eyes and looked at him while maintaining the kiss. It

and only in these moments did she feel he loved her. Although these moments were fleeting, they were
also why she had remained by his side all these years. However, right now, she seemed to be losing
her resolve. He didn’t want her to love him, and it seemed as though he would get his wish soon.
Josephine’s eyelids trembled, and she slowly closed her eyes. A single tear escaped from the corner of
her eye, and she eventually succumbed to the darkness when she ran out of energy. When she
regained consciousness later, she habitually felt around her and assumed she would only feel the
empty bed sheet as usual. However, her hand touched a firm, warm chest, which made her eyes fly
open and meet a pair of deep ones.
Her breath hitched. Feeling as though she was dreaming, she couldn’t resist reaching out to touch his
face. The warm skin felt so real, and he had an arm around her. She stared blankly at him; neither of
them said a word.
Lewis, too, reached out and traced her brows with his finger. His voice was deep and raspy from sleep
as he said, “Your eyes seem different, Josie. It’s like something is missing from them.” He seemed to
be talking more to himself than to her.
She gazed deeply at him but didn’t answer, and he didn’t seem to expect one from her as he continued,
“I don’t like you looking at me this way.”
Letting out a sigh, he shifted his position to lie flat on his back, his gaze fixed upon the ceiling above.
One could only wonder about the thoughts that occupied his mind.
Josephine’s eyelashes trembled ever so slightly as she gazed at his sculpted face and tired, drooping
eyes.
Time stretched in silence between them until Josephine recalled their previous conversation. Reaching
out a finger, she tapped on Lewis’ shoulder. He turned his head toward her and waited for her to sign.
