Chapter 1065 Don't Paul Me!
Marigold finally panicked at that moment. She struggled with all her might. "I'm not
getting an abortion! Paul, let me have the baby. You're capable enough and won't need to
rely on my arranged marriage for power. Just let me raise the baby alone," she wailed and
sobbed.
Paul's expression hardened, but at least he stopped dragging her into the hospital. "Yeah, I
do not need to arrange a marriage for you. But have you considered the consequences of
having the baby? You'll be the brunt of the joke, and that's going to be tough. Are you sure
you can handle that?"
Even though the Wagners were not the most influential, they raised Marigold as a
princess, and she never encountered any major obstacles in her life. Her claim that she’d

She straightened her back and said in all seriousness, "I can."
"You-" he choked on anger once more. "You can keep the child if you want. We can afford
that. But in return, you need to tell me who is the father, so I can decide on our next step."
His tone softened as he reached for a compromise.
She hung her head and stubbornly refused to speak. That was the last straw for him. "If
you're not telling, we're not keeping the baby!" Then, he started dragging her into the
hospital.
She was terrified. Knowing Paul, he totally had the means and guts to carry out his threat.
"Paul, if I tell you, will you really let me keep the baby?" she asked tentatively.
"Do you have a choice now?" he fired back. Her face went blank as she sank into despair.
He threatened her again when she refused to tell, "Do you think I can't get to the bottom
of it? I can investigate all the people you were in contact with. It's a matter of time before I
find out about him."
"I'll tell," she hurriedly added. "But promise me not to tell anyone else. And don't give him
trouble. I willingly keep the baby, and he doesn't even know about the pregnancy."
"You-" Paul felt his anger rising again. "Okay, tell me first."
"He's...Gilbert Hawthorn," she stammered after a long pause. The baby was an accident-
she never thought the one-night stand would lead to a pregnancy. And truth be told, she
was happy about the baby. Although Gilbert hated her, she decided to come home after
learning that Gilbert returned to Clusia.
Once, she ran into Gilbert, who was shopping with Jenny and a couple of others. It was a

the man and even flirted with her urge to tell him the truth.
However, it struck her that she could not reveal her pregnancy when he met with her
without attempting to conceal his dislike for her. He'd never let her keep the baby.
Therefore, she neither visited the Wagner Manor nor went out in public frequently to keep
a low profile about her pregnancy. To her dismay, Paul had caught on.
She looked up, curious about Paul's expression. As expected, his face crumbled. "Paul..."
"Don't Paul me!" He was engulfed in rage. "I should have known! Did you go abroad last
time just to meet him?"
She didn't deny that.
"Do you think you could use a child to tie Gilbert Hawthorn down?" Paul did not have much
interaction with Gilbert, but even he knew that Gilbert was no saint. The idea of keeping
the man by her side with the child as an excuse was frankly delusional.
