Chapter 492 Arrest You
Cedrick narrowed his eyes as rage bubbled in his heart.
However, when he saw Craig coming forward to greet him, he put on a mocking expression.
“Why are you here so early in the morning, Mr. Jenson?” With a smile, Craig swiftly arrived before Cedrick and
nodded politely.
Cedrick glanced at Charles and uttered casually, “Nico received a tip. Apparently, Charles illegally crossed the
national border during the past year. I’ve decided to apprehend him personally as it’s rare to have evidence of his
wrongdoing.”
Craig’s smile froze slightly. “Illegally crossing the national border? That sounds like an international case, Mr. Jenson.
Shouldn’t you be investigating the matter with foreign institutions?”
“You’re right. However, Charles and I are old friends. It’s been a while since we met, so I’ll bring him to the secret
interrogation room first to grill him. It’ll be the perfect warmup for him.”
The edges of Craig’s lips curved upward again. “You’re the boss of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You don’t
need to tell me who you plan to question.”
Cedrick glanced at Craig indifferently. “You’re the leader of the Newton family and Charles’ older brother, so I
thought I should let you know.”
“Sure.” Craig lowered his head respectfully.
Without delay, Cedrick sauntered toward Charles, who was kneeling unsteadily. Tutting, he remarked, “What did he
do wrong? Why is he already beaten up before I interrogate him?”
Craig’s expression remained unchanged. “He broke the family rules, so I punished him. I whipped him at few times
and forced him to kneel here briefly. It won’t kill him.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSilently, Cedrick approached Charles with his hands in his pockets.
Charles was reaching his limit as he aimed his blurry vision at Cedrick before looking at Craig.
Glowering, he spoke in a guilty tone. “What’s the meaning of this, Mr. Jenson?”
Cedrick didn’t say a word while Nico explained, “You committed a felony by illegally crossing the national border.
Let’s go. We’ll bring you to the interrogation room you’re most familiar with.”
Charles’ pale countenance shifted slightly as a smirk formed on his face. “You accepted my apology in front of
Gwen last night, Cedrick. Yet, you came to arrest me the next morning. What a two-faced b*stard you are.”
Rage swirled in Cedrick’s eyes as he frowned at Charles.
-Craig observed the duo’s expressions at the side quietly.
Charles continued to mock, “If Gwen learns you’re using an official excuse to seek revenge against me, what do
you think she’ll do?”
Scowling, Cedrick kicked Charles’ clean left shoulder. “I shall reward your insult by using all the tools in the
interrogation room on you tonight.”
Groaning in pain, Charles collapsed on the ground, unable to sit up.
Cedrick turned his sight away coldly. “Bring him away, Nico.”
In response, Nico gestured at a few subordinates to carry Charles away.
“Wait,” stated Craig.
Knitting his eyebrows, Cedrick glared at him coldly. He disliked people interrupting his official business.
Smiling ingratiatingly, Craig explained, “In addition to the country’s laws, he violated the Newton family’s rules, too.
Can you apprehend him at noon instead so I can interrogate him for a few more hours?”
Cedrick’s expression darkened further.
Nico hastily replied, “You know Mr. Jenson rarely apprehends felons personally, Mr. Craig. Yet, you’re asking him to
leave empty-handed before returning here at noon.”
Grinning politely, Craig responded, “It’s my fault for being inconsiderate. How about this? You’re free to drink tea in
the living room while I settle the Newton family’s crucial matter in half an hour, Mr. Jenson. Once I’ve gotten what I
want from Charles, you’re free to take him away.”
Nico and Cedrick went silent in unison. No doubt Craig’s suspicious of our arrival. If we reject him again, he’ll know
something’s up.
A stalemate ensued. Meanwhile, Charles, who was lying weakly on the ground, almost trembled. reflexively.
Half an hour… With that tight deadline, Craig will definitely employ the most ruthless methods to torture me. I’m
almost at my limit, and there’s no telling if I can prevent myself from spilling the truth while losing consciousness.
When his train of thought ended there, he endured the pain and crawled toward Craig.
Then, he clutched his brother’s pants and pleaded, “You must believe me, Craig. I didn’t steal Karl’s keys or
anything from the top floor. I really didn’t…”
Craig’s expression shifted slightly as he glanced at Cedrick.
Cedrick was also looking at him, though inquisitively. “What unknown secret is hiding on the top floor? I can’t
believe you forbid your family from entering a section of the house. What are you doing, Craig?”
Once more, Craig’s expression shifted slightly before he kicked Charles forcefully.
The kick was much stronger than Cedrick’s. Charles rolled on the pebbled path multiple times, causing immense
pain in his chest.
Upon stopping, he vomited a mouthful of blood and entered a half-conscious state.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense, Mr. Jenson. There’s nothing important on the top floor. He stole something precious
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmfrom my room, which is why I was punishing him. The Newton family hates theft among family members, you see,”
explained Craig.
Calmly, Cedrick replied, “Mhm. Stealing should be punished. Although, I think your punishment is too light. If it were
me, I would’ve chopped off his hands instead of whipping him.”
As he spoke, he glanced at Nico.
Nico understood his order and personally lifted Charles.
To his surprise, Charles bit him after sitting up.
“Are you a dog?” Wincing. Nico slapped Charles’ countenance.
After Charles released Nico’s hand, the latter pointed at the former furiously and ordered, “How dare you bite me
in front of Mr. Jenson and Mr. Craig! Consider your sins doubled! Do you still think you’re the leader of the Central
Intelligence Agency? Quick, I want someone to cuff and take him away!”
His subordinates swiftly and skillfully put electronic handcuffs on Charles.
Then, they immediately dragged the half-conscious Charles away by his arms.
Before Craig could stop them, Charles had already beer stuffed into a vehicle violently. “Mr. Jenson, don’t you think
that’s-”
Patting Craig’s shoulder, Cedrick put on a fake smile. “I’ll help you interrogate him about the object he stole from
you, too. Don’t worry. I’ll definitely break his limbs. Don’t say I’m not looking after my deputy director.”
Craig had no choice but to go along with it. “Of course not, Mr. Jenson. You’re a magnanimous man who cares
dearly about his subordinates.”
“I’m glad you’re aware of that.” Cedrick turned his cold gaze away and waved his hand.
Promptly, Nico led the soldiers out of the Newton residence.
Before Cedrick left, he turned his head back and reminded cautiously, “Committing a crime isn’t as heinous as
continuing with the crime down that path. I hope the person the next time I’m here to arrest won’t be you, Craig.”
The expression on Craig’s countenance shifted slightly. “Don’t worry. I do things righteously, Mr. Jenson. I’m not that
stupid to commit a crime knowingly.”
Disappointment swirled in Cedrick’s eyes as he simply replied, “Good.”
