"Uncle Leopold won't be suspicious now, will he?" William asked with a hint of concern in his voice.
Kane replied, "I don't think so. He believes you met Susanna online and is just worried about your safety."
"Oh, that's a relief."
After giving a few words of caution, William hung up the phone.
Kane let out a sigh. Pretending to be William used to be easier. Why did it feel so tough today? He couldn't shake the feeling that
he was on the verge of being exposed.
In the villa, Aurelia received a call from Leopold.
"I'm leaving the office now. I'll cover to see you in a bit." he said.
Aurelia sank her heart. If he cover now, her cover would be blown instantly.
"No need, the party is almost over. We'll head back soon. Why don't you go look after William for me?"
"...Alright."
Leopold hung up, leaning back in his executive chair, deep in thought.

Kevin entered the room, updating him on the status of their work.
In a low voice, Leopold asked, "Do you remember how Liam's DNA test was conducted back then?"
Leopold had been overwhelmed with grief at the tand was hospitalized. All the arrangements had been made by his
subordinates.
Kevin paused, "The police found sbaby hairs on the... charred remains. The DNA matched Mr. Raines."
Normally, DNA could be extracted from teeth, which often survived fires, but babies didn’t have teeth, so DNA identification was
more challenging.
Leopold furrowed his brows with a sharp glint in his eyes, "If the body was burnt to a crisp, how could any hairs survive?"
"They were found on the unburned parts of the clothing," Kevin replied.
"What if it was planted intentionally?"
Kevin shuddered, "You think Mr. Raines might still be alive?"
Leopold tapped his fingers on the desk. Was William really the person he seemed to be?
When he first met William, he was always wearing a mask, claiming social anxiety.
But Leopold hadn't seen a shred of social anxiety in him. If anything, the guy was a social butterfly.
Could it all have been a ruse, just so he wouldn't see his true face? He picked up his coffee cup and took a sip.
Kane spent every day with William and must know what William truly looked like.
His Kane was the obedient one and couldn't be conspiring with William to deceive him. Or was he overthinking it?
When Leopold returned to the Stirling Mansion, he brought Chirpy along.
Kane felt like running headfirst into a wall. The last thing he wanted to see was Chirpy. During a previous switch with William,
Chirpy had immediately recognized him, incessantly questioning, "Who are you?"
And that little chatterbox never stopped talking, which made it especially hard to handle.
Chirpy was no stranger to the Stirling Mansion and demanded to be let out of the cage.
Nina and Mira rushed down the stairs, beaming their faces.
"Chirpy, our darling!"
Leopold opened the cage, and Chirpy flew out.

"Nina, Mira."
Nina extended her arm, letting Chirpy perch there as she played with it.
Skyler also dashed downstairs, pointing to his head, "Chirpy, chere, land on my head."
"Skyler," Chirpy fluttered its wings, taking off and landing atop his head.
"William, William!"
It began to search for its young owner.
Leopold noticed that William hadn't cdown. With Chirpy's arrival, he should have been the first to dash downstairs. He was,
after all, Chirpy's favorite human.
"Where's William?"
"He caught a cold and isn't feeling well, probably still sleeping," Nina said.
Skyler spread his arms wide, mimicking a flying gesture, "Con, I'll take you to William."
Meanwhile, Kane was trapped in his room, pacing frantically like an ant on a hot pan.
