"Whoa!" Skyler exclaimed, jumping up and down with excitement. "Il wanna do that too! My dad has never dressed up as Santa Claus. He's always so busy." Nina let out a sigh, "Uncle Arnold seems to take the cake for the best dad in our family." "Yeah," Mira nodded in agreement, her eyes wistful. "It would be amazing to have a dad as cool as Uncle Arnold." William couldn't help but feel a smug sense of pride, arching an eyebrow. He knew everyone was jealous that he had the coolest dad ever.
"Kane, | bet your childhood was pretty dull, spending most of your talone. The only games Uncle Leopold would play with you were building robots and chess." Kane was embarrassed and speechless as if he had been hit by a stray comment.

In the childhood of Leopold, Chad would play horse for Arnold, frolicking around in the backyard, while Leopold could only watch from the window.
Every holiday, Arnold would get presents, and Leopold could only watch in silence.
Aurelia, ever so perceptive, noticed Leopold's darkening mood and quickly interjected, "William, every parent has their way of loving their children. It's not fair to compare." William pouted, "I know, no comparison, no hurt." Mira hung her head, her voice soft, "Guess our dad is the worst in the family." Nina waved her hand dismissively, "No, it's not dad who's the worst. Grandpa was. Just as Mom always says, 'Like father, like son." Dad just picked up grandpa's bad habits, which is why he's always out and about." Aurelia cleared her throat subtly. If Chad was watching from heaven, hearing his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren all criticizing him, he would probably be fuming enough to burst out of his grave. Aurelia wondered if Chad ever regretted his actions, setting such a poor example for his descendants.
William continued, "Grandpa only liked my dad and didn't care for the rest, not even for Uncle Leopold. Oh..." He made a face at Leopold, "I heard grandpa's least favorite was Uncle Leopold because he always butted heads with grandpa and never called him Dad." Kane curled his lips into a faint smile, "William, you're quite like my dad in that regard." William choked on his words. Was his knack for rebelliousness hereditary? Maybe William was destined to be Leopold's least favorite too? Leopold massaged his forehead, three imaginary lines of frustration etched across his face. He didn't catch the subtext of Kane's words.
William who was chatty and sharp-tongued was nothing like Leopold, while Leopold mostly ignored Chad, treating him as if he were thin air.

Chad never fulfilled his responsibilities. As for Leopold, his dad might as well have been struck by lightning.
Leopold was grateful that his genes didn't include Chad's but inherited his grandfather's traits.
Leopold's grandpa always said Leopold resembled him the most.
Aurelia ruffled William's hair, "Enough talk, let's eat. After dinner, Skyler is going to take you guys out to play. I'm taking Nina and Mira to visit Aunt Sheryl." Mira glanced at Nina with a hint of conspiracy in her eyes, "You better not tell mom about the test." Nina wrinkled her nose at her, "You probably cin last again, didn't you?" Mira fell her face, with her voice tinged with a pout, "I hate those tests. The words are all crammed together like ants. They're so annoying and hurt my eyes." Nina was a mix of exasperation and amusement, "There's no saving you. What a good player and eater!"
